Default Project 450M

Hey guys, this is Rick and here's my story which is backwards from what you maybe used to...
I bought my Miata about 10ys ago

Clean Straight Car!
Ok so from the getgo I knew that I would give this thing a tune up. I considered an S2000 but veto that due to build cost
So I started throwing parts at it (MONEY)
You know wheels tires flyin Miata shocks bars yada yada
Workin Ok but I'm still getting passed by somebodys Mom puttin on lipstick in her minivan
What to do?
You Know !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

TURBO

Now we apply Megasquiter ID750.. It works great very easy
Next turbo...........
Ebay T3T4 $125 Ebay header $100
I took that flipped it upside down chopped off the flange welded the correct flange on

Crude but works

Mind you this was my daily so this was over a weekend
NOW WERE GOING!!!
I started real soft with my boost..... 5 then 8 then 10 I'm feeling good 12 then I applied some METH 15 17!!!
Now it' really startin to wake up!!!!
This thing is fast! I raced a 6.1 Challenger one night that was just bought. It was a dead heat, he was weak that a Miata could run with him. He said 425 hp he's 4200lbs /10 lbs/hp me? 2500 lbs ?hp It was a dead heat! I'm sure I was makin 250
It is so much Fun The car is totally transformed from where I started...
I drove it like this for about 8 months and I patched the header acouple of times along the way no biggie
Ran down alot of Mustangs

225 RS3 on 9's Not enough TIRE!!!

And then it happened!

It failed
A 25 cent part! MY FAULT! The cam bolt loosened up to the point that the dowel sheered off and now were done.....
But not done done....
It's the beginning The beginning of really trying to make a really nice car out of this thing,
That was about 5 yrs ago and I'm still not finished...I'm about 95% but not finished by any means...So sit tight and I'll take you along my journey of time and money to build something special

Now for the rest of the story... I'll start by saying that If I would have had any real sanity about doing this, I would do the build sequence would be different. I did last things first and first things last
So this is what brings me here...My goal is to maybe help someone else with this affliction. After hrs of reading, watching failures on YouTube, we have all seen transmission failures left and right
which brings me to a place where I will present my solution, and to show you where I am in this process.
After many many hrs of internal debut I came to the conclusion that running a DCT in my car was alittle beyond me. And back to MoNeY it would cost about 5k to put one together. I'm not that brave!
But almost! What I've got is a brand new Tremec TKX close ratio 5 speed, tall 1st gear tall 5th. I'm running this behind a CC twin Clutch going to a 3.71 Getrag, Driveshaft Shop axles
Everything is good to 600lbs. Not for the newbeees, this is about $4500 in parts and I still have to make a bellhousing....

Old school.. Plate welded to an old Bell, milled and ready for a test fit.
Here's the TKX

They say that this will shift @ 8000 RPM we'll see!
Sorry bout the picture size the first few were coming from another device, not my phone.

Did you ever manage to get this together? Curious what clutch you ended up using. I realize you said cc clutch but i don't actually know what that is.
