You do realize that's a stock miata, with about 140hp at most. The s2000 has a 100-125hp advantange sitting at 240hp. Let me put it this way is not the car you have to be concerned about when it comes to handling, the Miata will handle better than "high end" and more power oriented cars, in the right hands of course.

Most will say this video sums up what the miata is all about

Maybe I don't need more power than an s2000, bone stock settings with some suspension mods should handle 200rwhp and 200 rwtq right? I'm thinking to start with suspension mods like sway bars, tein coilovers, strut tower bars front and rear, and anything else.

^The guy is persistant, and I'm starting to like him.

Throw strut tower bars out of your build plan. Mostly all they do is make you push, and nobody uses one on the rear... don't even know if anybody makes one for the rear.

If you are serious, the most significant improvement you can make is good wheels/tires. If the stock suspension is holding up for you, leave it alone for now, and invest in some serious rubber. The hands-down most popular wheel on this board is the 949Racing 6UL in 15x8 and some pick-your-favorite 225 rubber. With stock suspension, I don't think the 15x8/225 requires you to roll the fenders on '99+ cars. Start there.

Then wait for some coilovers/springs to appear in the classifieds... they do ALL THE TIME.

Then start working on supporting mods for the engine. Upgraded ignition (Toyota COPS), Exhintake swap, adjustable camgears, Adaptronic+wideband, dif/tranny fluids, oil cooler, coolant reroute, gauges.

If you don't currently have a Torsen differential, then that can be added to your do-now-list. You'll want to look for one with the 3.9ratio... or 4.1 ratio if you get a great deal. If your eventual goal is over 250whp, definitely 3.9. You can also look into a clutch-type TII dif from an RX7.

Also, upgraded clutch... see the FM website. Their Stg1 should be good up to 300whp, but call and ask. Also popular is ACT... some guys run eBay puck clutches from a company called F1. I say cheaping out on your clutch is a good way to guarantee you'll need to pull the tranny again, WHICH SUCKS!

And stop comparing WHP directly to an S2000. The Miata weighs a good 500lbs less and has a significant torque advantage. A 200whp Miata will devastate an S2000 in a straight line.

Both of the major companies that sell bolt-on turbo kits, FlyinMiata and BellEngineering have kits that will run 240whp out of the box... you'll spend $5k for either kit, but they will both have everything you need minus a clutch... the Begi kit has a few more hardware bells and whistles, but a weaker piggyback computer. A lot of people mix&match pieces from each company for a superior bolt-on kit than you could get buying solely from one company.

What's wrong with the stock wheels? I've got some performance tires stock size 195/50r15's on it right now that was my only upgrade so far. But going wider with 15x8 sounds good with some 225's? I'll need help finding the right tire size for it.

If the stock differential will hold up to my 200whp goal then I'm fine with it.

I would NEVER use ebay parts on my car.

Clutch is a must obviously, probably gonna go with act.

I just want to make sure 200whp won't be too much for the stock parts to handle but I know I'll need a stronger clutch.

Basically here's what I have gathered:

FM turbo kit the one that claims 180rwhp and tune it for 200 if I'm not happy with 180 which I might probably be. It comes intercooled, right?

ACT or FM clutch whichever's cheaper
15x8 wheels with performance tires
FM sway bars
good coilover set

I think fooger thinks I'm some kind of dumbass who's not even gonna do this build at all and just came into these forums because it's something that I want to do for the moment but will lose interest by the time I have the money.

That's what I think, but trust me, it's happening. Anyway, I'm gonna do some more internet window shopping for my miata .

Oh and by the way ebay rims are the only ebay parts I use on my cars. So I found some NIICE 15x8's deep dish looks hella cool and they're inexpensive. But what tire size should I be looking for? 225/50r15's right? And this is probably a DUH but I am looking for 4x100 bolt pattern right?

Might want to read up on unsprung weight before getting those 'hella cool' deep dish pizza rims.

Your first thought was correct.. don't use eBay for anything.

Damn so have to shell out some real money for the decent rims huh? Haha I was hoping ebay could at least put out decent rims they're alloys just like any other rims but I'll take your word for it you're more experienced than me.

Nope not a guido.

Funny yes. Naive, hell no learned that one the hard and painful way. You have no idea what I've been through man you're talking to a guy who's come face to face with death 3 times dented a dash board with my face almost killed myself once been in and out of mental institutes got psychiatric disorders and had my world turned upside down several times been an uphill battle all my life so I'm just an odd ball hahaha happy just to be breathing still. And yes, I've fucked mothers before .

But basically for the conclusion to my "Re-introduction" post, that's me in a nutshell and I'm just happy to be alive and don't take anything for granted anymore I'm on a fresh start in life and preparing to start college in the fall for the collision repair certificate so I'm not concerned with anybody thinking that I'm some guido or douchebag or naive because I'm a very unique individual and if you get to know me I'm the farthest from a douche or a guido or an ******* that you've ever met.
