Salutations!
Hey there!
Just popping in to say hello. I purchased a Mazdaspeed Miata about a month ago. I've never owned a Miata before, but I did drive a Mazdaspeed 3 for 5 years and loved it.
So far I've just been giving it some love: spark plugs, fixing broken connectors, replacing fluids and, oddly, repairing cut wires. It seems the previous owners would just cut a wire if they wanted to delete a function. So far, it has only been the antenna and the driver door sill switch.
I just installed an intake and an O2 signal modifier, but haven't really had a chance to see what difference they've made.
Looking to install a bigger intercooler, new suspension and maybe some SS brake lines.
I'm happy to be on this forum and look forward to learning loads from y'all.
Peace!
Todd

The biggest "restriction" in a MSM is the ECU.
Replacing it with something like this is the first step for me.
Miata 0405 MS3Pro PnP for 04-05 Mazdaspeed Miata (diyautotune.com)
EBC Electronic Boost Control Solenoid Mac Valve Kit with Hardware (diyautotune.com)
I have a 04MSM Ti with a built engine that failed within 10k miles because of stock ECU with a piggy back (Xede)
I bought it broken at a reduced price.
Had that car had a decent ECU from the start it would have never been for sale and I wouldn't have it now...
I bought the above ECU within 24 hours of getting the car.
I just barely made "Black Friday" pricing on that ECU.
That ECU is specific for the MSM and the factory wiring harness plugs right into it.
I am also fixing wiring bullshit on my car that was done to "patch" the crappy ECU/piggyback set up.
The DIY ECU will support any reasonable power goal with appropriate injectors.
Changing back to stock is also easy with that set up.
Merely an ECU/injector swap takes you back to stock crap if it becomes a requirement later on (usually for emissions testing).

Thanks for the info! I did loads of research before I got the car.. I was planning on getting a mega squirt eventually, but that PnP module looks more user friendly.
However, I desperately need suspension, so that'll come first. I'm also quite happy with current power levels, especially after the tune up. The spark plugs that were in it when I first got it were so bad I was getting blowout in cylinder 1 under any boost higher than 8psi.
That said, I'm sure I'll want more power soon enough. I'll come pick your brain when it's time.

These will be the best budget coil overs IMO.
I'm saving up for these now.
949/Supermiata is the first source I look to for high end parts.
