Default Michigan miata peeps: Show me how awesome ur cars are

Wasn't quite sure where to put this, figured it won't be offensive here.

I just moved to Saline, MI and I'm currently shopping for a turbo Miata. I had a '97 LE all stock and loved it but always wanted a turbocharged one.

I have played with several turbo cars: saab 900 turbo, two Merkur XR4Ti's, and a PT Cruiser GT. I am ready for another.

So... Let me check out your car! I'm not asking to buy it (tho if it's for sale we can talk about that) but I really, really wanna check out a turbo Miata in person and go for a ride. I have never ridden in one.

Anyone wants to meet up, PM or reply here and we'll figure it out.

Haha... that was a FUN car. I used a DiabloSport tuner on it, put a more aggressive wastegate actuator and a 3" exhaust and went after v8 mustangs and lightly modded WRXs. It wasn't incredibly fast but much faster than most people expected.

I'm ready for something that's actually fast, not just relatively fast.

Don't I know it. His build was awesome. I'm not looking for that much power in my next car but would sure enjoy going for a spin in that one.

Thanks for the welcome. As you can see by my join date, I've been here a while I signed up back when I had my stock '97 thinking I might turbo it someday, but it was too clean so I sold it for a profit and went back to street bikes instead. Now that street bikes are done, I'm back and really want a turbo car.

Unfortunately, after talking with my wife, it's a no-go in 2012. Frankly between work and other things we have planned I won't be able to travel to pick up a car before January anyway.

I was wanting to ride in some turbo cars because I wanted to get a feel for what a 240hp miata is like. The two cars I was most looking at are Blaise's and Chad's. Same price, Blaise's has the hardtop and torsen, chad's no hardtop and need to pay extra for torsen. I really wanted an NB and I like that Chad's has a built motor, but even without the built motor Blaise's is about all you should run on the 5spd. Basically, I would like to know that I could go on up to 280-290 hp and throw a 6-speed in there. I think that'd be my goal, so Chad's makes more sense.

Who knows... His car has been for sale for like... ever, so maybe it'll still be available in January...

So, I rode in Erat's car. Very nice.

Looking harder at pschmidt's car. Lots of parts for 8k. Calling all Marylanders!! Anyone live close enough to pschmidt to go take a look conveniently?
