Southern Utah hopeful owner
Hi all!
Just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully get the ball rolling a little more fluidly to make it easier to purchase a Miata, and research them more thoroughly. Also to make less of a dumbass of myself and to spare you folk from suffering from said naiveté.
My name is Jeff, and I live in Southern Utah. I'm 27 and own and operate a bakery...my biggest love and hate(any business owner understands). Currently own a 10' Jetta Sportwagen TDI, with far too many things done to it. I was going to go with a bigger aftermarket turbo to add on to the stage 2, but as the old proverb goes; "one does not **** with your daily driver".
Seeing as I enjoy the car thoroughly, and wish it to remain comfortable and reliable, a weekend/track/guinea pig toy is needed. Which is why I am here.
Currently looking at a car to purchase; hopefully one with a built engine and/or a turbo application already applied to it. Unfortunately for aftermarket applications, you don't get a very large return on your money invested. Hence why it is a shitty sellers market, and a great buyers market.
Anyways, I'll stop while I'm ahead and say thanks for providing a great community and a great resource of information for everyone. Also thank you for being a ******* hilarious group of people. I don't think I have laughed this hard in a car forum for a long time.
Coming from the VW community where 90% of the people are all about "stance" and the look of the car, it is great that everyone(mostly) cares more about the performance and quality of what drives a car.
Shameless picture of the daily.

Going from 24 MPG to 48 MPG(post DPF delete and with a 3" turbo-back exhaust) was pure nirvana.
I hope I can keep it up, I love the low tolerance of stupid here, refreshing.
