Supercharged Lurker from Alabama
Hello from Birmingham, Alabama! I've got a 2001 that I bought a few years ago with a Fast Forward Superchargers kit on it (I know, negcats all around for the wrong f/i) that I hope to convert to Megasquirt in the next year or so, and an NC daily driver. The NC is my first Miata, purchased in 2014. I've had several since then, but knew I had to jump on the supercharged NB when it popped up, since it was a screaming deal. Miatas have taken me from liking cars and enjoying modifying them, to tinkering, to starting my own side gig parting out NA and NB chassis cars. The Miata has also brought me into the SCCA community via autocross, and I now have the privilege of working as autocross chair for my local SCCA region.
I started out over on Miata.net, but have changed directions with my NB from an attempt at a retro grand tourer to a good track car, so here I am, basking in the glory of the trubo kitty. I've been lurking for the last few months, reading the entire threads on aero, cooling, etc. Y'all almost had me convinced to take off the s/c and buy turbo stuff, but it seems worth the money to me to keep trying to make the s/c work better for now, and punt it if I still have problems after MS. The car of course, has problems overheating on track here in Alabama, even with the factory air guide and splash guard in place, so I figure the next step is ducting the radiator completely and installing some hood vents. I also have the big oil cooler from psyber_0ptix's NA to install. And his old Xidas. Geez I need to get to work on this thing instead of reading forums...

Track days spoiled me. Autocross was a waiting game I couldn't stand.
Welcome to the forum. There's a couple of active guys on the forum from up there.

It is becoming more difficult for me to take autocross very seriously, but that just means I get to have more fun instead. I have no intent of making my car a true SSM competitor anyway, so incentive to stress is low.
Nice! Chances are extremely high you'll see me if you come to any autocrosses - I'll be the guy running the event. Check out the local SCCA region on Facebook: Alabama Region Sports Car Club of America (ALSCCA).
Welcome. Sorry I missed your initial post, I've been slacking on my build lately. I'll be more than happy to show you the proper side of F/I when I get the last few loose ends tied up on my td04 NA. Still looking forward to meeting all the miata guys close by.
I know we have a local Miata club, but unsurprisingly, they're not super interested in modified Miatas. The Facebook group Miatas of Alabama is a good join. Mostly reasonable folks.
I blame this forum for the fact that I'm extremely tempted to remove the supercharger from my car and run n/a for a year or so while I sell the s/c and piece together a K24Z3 swap, or a turbo setup. Just thought I'd share that.
And now I think my NB is fat. Weighed it over the weekend and it's 2390 lbs. Soft top removed, p/s deleted, cruise deleted, roll bar, full interior, 10-11 gallons of gas, sitting on 15x7 Kosei K1s with 205 street tires.
Ordered the bracket to mount up my TDR seat yesterday as well. It'll be here tomorrow.
