Default Update

The turbokit from Revent is done now and will be shipped soon.

Unfortunatley I have a cold garage this winter, so I wont be able to install it until spring

I keep wondering about crankcase ventilation though. Im split if I should just VTA or catchcan with a checkvalve to the intake mani.

Just another picture from last summer

Default Up and running. Tuned

Hey!

Miata is now turbocharged and up and running.

Ended up with 224whp 208ftlbs @ 12psi. Had a slight missfire this run.

Going for E85 and EBC next season.

Just kidding D

The first and foremost reason why I joined MT is because I wanted to join a forum with alot of crazy builds towards turbocharging the Miatas. I cant imagine how insanely fun a 200+hp one would feel.

My goal is one day to turbo my NA. I want to keep the overall track/stance look of it now. Just repainting the hardtop and overfenders this Winter and getting rid of the chrome stuff.

You will soon see me posting in the forums, just gotta search alot and see if my questions allready has been answered.

Nice to meet you!
Hahahahahahhahahah touche

Wow awesome build!

I like the smooth look of your intake manifold? Did you sand it smooth or use a high fill primer?

Ask my friends, I was gone for a week and came back to my manifolf looking like that

I think they: removed casting marks, sandblasted it, polished it, primed it and then painted.

I was in a low period of doing anything on the car so they really gave me a boost

Bad news!

Miata started to blow a lot of oil through the breather filter.

Did a leakdown (wasnt really needed when I saw that plug 1&4 was covered in oil but 2&3 were fine). Turned out bad on those two cylinders, suspecting the original rings have given up after almost 180.000 kilometers.

I got a new 1.6 engine (50$, 120.000km and a gearbox (for free). Will pull the old one and keep it for a future forge/rebuild.

Currently saving up for a house, so the forge build might be a long while away. So in the meanwhile Im just putting the "new" 1.6 in and turning down the boost a little to at least have some fun
