Default Talahassee new guy

Hi, Joe from Tallahassee. Got my 93 about 5 years ago. I've decided to turbo it at some point. I'm thinking of building a strong 1.8 before I do it. My goal is about 200-250 whp. That will probably go up.
Don't worry, I'll be reading and researching before I ask a bunch of mindless questions.

Welcome to the site. Not a bad plan on the 1.8 (probably want to look into swapping the rearend too), especially if you think you might want more in the future. Personally, I'd suggest getting a stock 1.8 in there and shoot for your 200-250. If you do decide you want more then think about tearing it down and building the motor for more.

Thanks for the advice pdexta. I will look for a rearend swap too and a new stage 1 or 2 clutch. So you think the stock 1.8 would be strong enough for 200-250? That would sure save some money up front. Maybe a little bit of head work.

I had a 90 with a 95 motor that I ran a little over 250whp for a while. It's actually the same bottom end in my car now, just with aftermarket rods, everything else still stock. Both the B6 and BP love boost and seem to handle it quite well.

Thanks. Strange coincidence, I'm actually from Tallahassee. My parents still live there so I make it up that way occasionally.
