After chatting with Nathan M-ED about his coil reliability, he said he's had no problems setting the Dwell to ~2.2ms. He's only blown 1 set due to a firmware upgrade, so he recommends disconnecting the coils when upgrading the firmware or changing any settings and reconnecting it only when everything is set up. I don't see why he needed VB921's with the 1.8L coils. They have intergrated ignitors. Where did you post his settings?

 

That was my mistake with the VB921s, I must've got his and my setup mixed up. His msq file is on the megasquirt forums under success stories.
