Default 1990 1.6L MS3/ M3x 1st start issue / base timing

I'm having a bit of trouble starting my car - it's the first start after installing Megasquirt.

Details:
1990 1.6L, all stock from the airbox to the cat. No turbo, no COPs, no AC.
Timing is set to 14btdc- on the stock ECU, this starts easy and runs strong.

Parts I've changed from Sunday to now:
-Wells TPS
-GM AIT
-jumper wire for fuel pump added to the AFM plug
-Map sensor hose
-Innovate LC-1 wired to ms harness
-Brain built harness to plug in factory wiring
-registered Tuner Studio

-I did the LC-1 first, calibrated it in fresh air, then installed.
-Connected laptop to USB, got a reliable connection with TS
-ECU Definition: MS3 Format 0238.002
-calibrated TPS, added the GM IAS and the Miata CLT
-selected LC-1 for my 02 sensor
-set 'Fixed Advance' to 10

First turn of the key is a very labored cranking, and every 5 seconds or so, a back fire. It's like the base timing is way off. I can smell some fuel.

I'm reading as much as possible, but I started to take few stabs in the dark with the Ignition Options/ Wheel Decoder settings. See attached logs.

At first, I left the settings alone:
Trigger Angle -16
Timing for Fixed Advance 10
Cranking advance 15

Next
Trigger angle +14
Timing for Fixed Advance 10
Cranking advance 15

Next
Trigger angle 0
Timing for Fixed Advance 14
Cranking advance 15
I also noticed my air temp gauge was showing ~28*, so I recalibrated it

Next
Trigger angle 0
Timing for Fixed Advance 14
Cranking advance 0

Next
Trigger angle -16
Timing for Fixed Advance 0
Cranking advance 0

None of these started it, the ones where the Fixed advance was 0 felt like it was spinning easier (not as labored). Am I in the right ballpark? Is 'Fixed advance' the one I want to be messing with? Should I try going negative with that number?

Any suggestions? I'd prefer to keep the CAS timing right where it is - I know this engine works well with the Stock ECU there.

Also, since I'm such a noob to MS, if there is a particular field that you'd like me to log, I can get you those tomorrow after work.

There's little point to moving the trigger angle around. Are you RPMs in TS reading constant when you are cranking?

can you click on the diagnostics tab, start a composite log, then crank for about 15 seconds and post the screenshot of those results?

Sounds good. I was guessing that it was a timing issue, that's why I started playing there first.

I just checked the logs that I do have (cranking for a short time), and the RPMs do seem to fluctuate. They're about 300-ish, then you'll see a quick spike downward - theis is where it felt 'labored' or out of time.
The battery was getting tired of all that cranking, I did throw it onto a charger during the course of taking the above logs.

I'll post the screenshot tonight when I get home. Thanks for the help.
