Default 99-00 Head on NB2

I bought a MS3 Pro for my 01, and for my forged rebuild I want to get rid of the VVT. When I put the turbo in I am swapping out the cams for 264 or 272 duration and heavy double springs, I don't want the fragility and problems of the VVT system in my 500-600hp build (for what little power it gives). Is there something I can do tuning wise to compensate for this? Or is it as simple as leaving the solenoid connector unplugged when the BP4W head is installed?
