Looking into this...
My bank account is finally agreeing with me so it looks like boost is in my future.
I have a '00 NB, and I plan on running a homebrew t2554 yada yada yada.
Anyway I've done some research and MSNS looks to be for me, but I have some questions.
I know I have to run it piggy back, because I want to retain A/C and this looks like the simplest way of doing it.
From the people who have done this already what EXACTLY do I need for my project. I want to run a wideband with this setup, as well as make the boomslang harness shown in the DIY thread.
Also about how much do you guys have in your setup? ($$$)
My dad is an electrical engineer and this is kind of going to be a project for us before I go to UCF for my mechanical engineering degree, as I finish up my AA at the end of this semester at the local Community College.

FWIW, I have 900 in my setup. However, that's MS II, stim, ebc, knocksense, wideband, panel meter, used laptop for tuning, powersupply for laptop, diy boomslang, a meter, all the way down to the wire and solder and all the little stuff that most people might have on hand, but I did not. That said, you can't spend more than 900 even if you buy the best kits and have to buy the tools to build them and tune with. That's assuming you build the stuff yourself.

Wire for harness (40-50 for boomslang, 30' for MS db37)
EBC solenoid and mod kit
STIM for testing
Boomslang parts
Tuning cable and laptop of course, USB to DB9 adapter if needed
94-97 CAS (Cam Angle Sensor) because you can't run MSI on your stock 99+ sensors easily.
Pretty much the exact setup i'm running right there. You can spend as much or as little on this project as you want. Some things get expensive, it's the small things that will make you go over budget. If you want prices, just go to http://www.diyautotune.com and price it all in a cart.
Read the MS FAQ, it has all the info you need including the 99-00 pinout to splice the MS harness into the patch harness.

I'm running MS II, Cjernigan is running MS I. MS I is much more popular on here. However, if you do decide to go MS II, well, I hate to even say this. It's really easy to make MS II read the factory sensors for triggering the ignition. It's two simple circuits and it works. However, it took me like 4 days of troubleshooting and trying diff circuits and a huge migrain before I got it working. IF you decide to go MS II, and run it in parallel with the stock ecu, let me know, and I'll send you the circuits to add to read the stock sensors. I got the schematics from arga.

yeah that is what I seem to be discovering.
So has a lot of the bugs been worked out already?
I guess my question is has someone successfully got all this running? I mean it seems to be an ongoing thing, and I would hate to get stuck running in circles with this. I'm alway down for learning, and I think I will kind of be learning as I go.

You could go MSI tomorrow and have 100% functional car without bugs. You could run Hi-Res code with high impedance injectors and have an amazingly drivable car that would be limited in power only by the amount of money you could put into it all.
MSII is still in Beta testing and might have a few bugs, still being developed. There are currently 3 people with MSII in an NB. 2 are running parallel successfully and one is running standalone while trying to make everything perfect.
