I didn't have time to rip it all up again. Had to catch a $30 uber to work....to find out the once a year training was cancelled as of this morning.
When it rains, it pours.
This makes sense, but frustrating how it'll be fine randomly, and not be an issue under vibration in operation. If I have enough day light when I get home, I'll try to re-wire.
This might be the breaking point though, I need to get another car if little phantom bugs are waking up in this car.

I guess, the car used to be reliable enough :3
Actually, I've been fighting arlington county on a lot of property related stuff and it has been a very expensive, 1.5 year battle to replace some stupid columns that were originally cited for "chipped paint." It then fell into the hands of Zoning because the property predates the zoning laws by 40 years. Then I had to get the land surveyed.a couple plat maps drawn because Arlington kept changing their mind on what was accepted, architectural plans drafted which means I should have just torn the house down and built a new one, and petition my neighborhood to allow me to keep my front porch despite the setback being too short, otherwise I'd have to use a ladder to access my front door. A BZA hearing and nearly 20k later, I'm almost ready to put this behind me. That time/effort/funds would have been real helpful toward a daily.
The amount I actually spend on this miata isn't a lot at once since it's been an accumulation over the past 5 years. It had been working reasonably well so it didn't even pop into my head that I needed a second car.
My girlfriend just got a CX3 a couple weeks ago, but in the process some of the new mazda 3's have been pretty attractive and comfy. Still not sure whats good as I've never owned a car newer than a 1999 Impreza (and even that I swapped, vf34'd and sold over 10 years ago). I always bought my cars outright. Something tells me I'll not be able to work on newer cars, which in this case may be fine.

You can definitely find something not so new that you can't work on it, but new enough to be comfortable and reliable. I drive a 2006 Mazda 3 as a daily. 173k on it but dead reliable.. bought it for 3k outright.
Though I bet your housing association wouldn't allow it because it has slight rust near the sideskirts/wheel wells, lol.

Hahaha, the worst part is that there is no homeowners association. Arlington County is so bad, there was no point in redundancy.
Looking for some used options, but hoping I can find a solution to the miata problem as it'd then be cheaper to rent a car than Uber daily.

The crank sensor wasn't as tight as it could be. I could move it with little effort and this o lyrics started happening after I took it to MachV to do the timing job since I couldn't break the crank bolt loose. I don't even know why I physically touched the sensor, it just looked too close to the teeth. So I pushed it away a bit.
What stumps me is why it wouldn't read when too close, or rather, why the cam signal wouldn't read either.
I tested it too close, it won't start, pushed it away and it starts and idles strong. It's probably two credit cards distance now and I snuggled it down.

When I ran my MS2E, it did weird things where it would sync, or not sync, and gapping the crank sensor out further did help keep it syncd. The MS3 PRO syncs fine no matter where I put the sensor, any gap close or far makes no difference.
I should tighten mine down next time I have easy access to it. I remember it being easy to position with my hand when I was under the car installing the front sway.
