Default Alternative USB -> Serial Converter

I didnt want to spend 20+shipping for the one offered on DIYAutotune so I started looking for a cheaper alternative. I went to newegg.com and searched for what they had to offer. The cheapest one with a cable and the end that I needed was this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...pk=orion%2busb
It would have been 8.99+shipping and even that was too much to gamble for me. So I started looking on ebay. I got lucky and scored the same exact one for 8 bucks shipped.

The gamble payed off. I had to cut off its female standoffs because it wouldnt mate to the MS. Sadly they are clipped and not screwed in so I had to use a saw. If you have a dremal this would be 2 seconds worth of modification. Luckily the innards of this thing are secured internally so it doesnt fall apart after you cut them off so no need to replace them with bolts. After cutting off its female standoffs I plugged it into the MS and it worked right off the bat.

So if you are looking for an alternative for less then 12 bucks you can have it.

Edit:

Another place that carries it http://www.chiefvalue.com/product-_-...00010269010060
