Default Another launch control question

Specs:
'96
Brain-built DIYMS-I

not really sure what else is relevant.

I'm trying to set up launch control. It's set to retard spark to 5* at 3krpms. The problem is that it retards spark to 5* all the time, weather or not I'm on the clutch or in neutral.

I tried searching but there is such a vast sea of information to sift through that I don't even know where to begin.

Data I have gathered is that there are two clutch switches - one for starting the car and one for the ECU (???). There is also a neutral switch in the tranny that needs to be altered to work with launch control.

Unfortunately, that's all I can gather with my noobishness.

Help?

I will any relevant information. I really do not know where to begin with this.

the neutral switch on the trans and the clutch switch both ground thru the same pn on the ecu. unpluging the neutral switch should fix this.

I've always wondered: Is there any negative consequence to unplugging the neutral switch? And if not, why is it even there?

the stock ecu uses it for idle compensation, in the FWD world it gets covered in gear lube and breaks anyway so most of us plug it even on the stock ecu
