Can it? I don't want to mess with my ignition harness - just don't feel like it So ultimately my MegaSquirt would control everything besides boost (I don't need it to.)

Turbo timers are worthless.
No megasquirt can't be a turbo timer.

Just tell your dad to let the car idle. Turbo timers are dumb.

I think I'm alone in my use of timers. I have one on both cars. The weird look on people's faces when you leave your car running is too priceless to give up.

No, I have an Apex'I on my WRX and a Blitz FATT IV on my Miata. I wish I had the Blitz on both cars because the brain portion of it has a thermometer... granted it's in metric, but a conversion isn't that hard... it also has some other functions that I completely ignore. The thermometer is nice in the Miata for sure.

I boost up my driveway and cut the ignition before i even come to a stop, then I grab the rollbar and flip out backward behind the rear of the car and run. typically in my haste i forget to set the ebrake and i get run over.

turbo timers are silly. your turbo could spin all day long at idle for no oil. theres enough residual oil to keep it lubicated, it isn't going to cool anymore from a little to no oil for a few seconds at idle.

sure it will, think about it if you boost right up to your driveway the tubby is glowing red hot, as soon as you stop the oil circulating it'll instantly fry on the super hot bearings, there's no more oil and the tubby is still spinning.

now let it idle for 60 - 90 seconds and the tubby has cooled significantly so that when you stop the engine the oil doesn't instandly solidify, job done

All that said Turbo Timers are daft, just drive calmly for the last 2 minutes home.

I also like ******* with people.

My sister in law said,"Your car is still running." I looked in the car through the rear window and clapped my hands just as it hit zero. Her jaw dropped and she goes,"NO WAY!!!"

hahaha! thats awesome! damn... now im definitely getting a turbo timer just for that! plus my car computer plays for about 10-15 seconds after i turn on my car and then it hibernates

i should also put a switch under my seat so if i lift my *** off seat and dont come back within 30 seconds - it would turn itself off. that would be a one dope turbo timer
