Default Crank but no start 91 miata with 1.8 swap. PLS Help

I have a 91 miata with a 1.8 swap and megasquirt now installed and I am having trouble getting the car to start. Also i went and pulled back on the throttle and tuner studio now says offline and will not reconnect.

Which Megasquirt? Any custom wiring? Has the car run on Megasquirt before the swap? Figure out if you have power getting to the ECU. If you do, take a composite log to see if you have crank/cam sensors. If that checks out, check for fuel/spark.

i guarantee you that you have the spark plug wire order wrong. I had the same issue. use the 1.6 wiring order. not the 1.8

you will have to play around with different plug lengths, kind of annoying.

So then would it matter if I had the 1.6 base map vs the 1.8 base map

Change your engine displacement to 1800cc, and see if it wants to start.

also when the throttle pedal is pulled backwards it doesnt detext the ecu but then when u push it in and then let it come back on its own it detects it. But the gauge thinks the throttle is at 30%

did you calibrate your TPS? Do you even have a variable TPS.

the 1.6 doesnt have a variable tps so that reading probably is useless.
