OK, I believe all of the above is correct except for the MAP sensor offset and scale. The offset should be 20kPa and the scale should be .961 kPa/ADC.

Hmm, I may have a different one than you but what got me with my default MAP sensor for Megasquirt to the same as what I had in Megatune was a 10kPa offset with the scale you provided (thank you!).

Still new so there's a possibility that Megatune is off too. =/

(just have the MAP set up in the Configurator, nothing more that I know of)

Those are the 2.5 bar settings.

After learning more data... These numbers should be more correct than anything posted previously

It has nothing to do with my math being faulty earlier. It has to do with my faulty assumption that MegaTune's kpafactor file is accurate. :mad:
Of course, looks like I DID get the slope right (I'll consider 3 thousandths of error to be more than acceptable for this assignment). The error ends up being in the offset.

Somebody with a 2.5 bar, try it and report back.

Well, I had been using offset of 9 and scale of 0.984, and hadn't noticed any discrepancy. I'll give 9.108 and 0.964 a try and see how much of a difference it reads.

Put em in this morning and it looks spot on from what I can tell. Nice work!

Now my last discrepency is my CLT. Reading 33 on the palm and 45 in MegaTune. Stock Mazda sensor, wondering if I have the coolant settings wrong. (using what's up there)

Using AusieDriver's EasyTherm settings of:

-4F 16200
86F 2450
176F 384

Any clues?

I pulled those Cool-A,B,C values from the easytherm file using the MSPNP inputs of:

-4F 16150
104F 1150
176 320

A= 1.222495E-03 B=2.775695E-04 C= 4.196125E-08 (from MSPNP9093 w AFM thermfactor.ini).

However, with:

-4 16150
104 1150
176 330

A= 1.131957E-03 B=2.943506E-04 C= -3.725285E-08 (from MSPNP9093 w/o AFM thermfactor.ini)

Looks like my AIR values for MAT are screwed up as well. I can't figure out where those values came from, but the GM IAT sensor I'm using (AFM delete) should have Air values of :

A= 6.034498E-04 B=4.181235E-04 C= -1.094738E-06 (from MSPNP9093 w/o AFM matfactor.ini).

I can't seem to find an appropriate matfactor.ini for use with the AFM...they all seem to have the same values as thermfactor.ini. Do the stock CLT and IAT (in AFM) sensors have the same temp/resistance relationship? :dunno:

BTW: I'm glad some more people are jumping on this. Makes me revisit all the screw-ups from rushing this to make it "work," or rather show that it could work ;)

Ben--the settings you have already posted look correct to me. You can check MAT under the file megasquirt/without afm/mtcfg/matfactor.inc
and CLT under ....../thermfactor.inc


Granted, I'm actually yet to take a drive in my car w/ those settings, but at idle in my garage those settings jived perfectly with megatune.

That's where I'm looking now, and they're def. way off. I had never noticed anything weird though while monitoring with the palm with my "old" settings, but I've been more concerned about CLT than MAT.

I see what you're doing, I think... The default files are coded around the GM sensor. That's why they have the same values. :)
You need to look in the MSPNP W/O AFM folder, the "your car" folder that shows your customized settings, not in the main MegaTune folder which only shows default settings.

No no no. I'm looking in the right place. Go have a look yourself. Everything seems fine in the w/o AFM project folder, but things are weird in the w/ AFM folder for matfactor. It's the same file as thermfactor but with a different header comment.

OK, so mazda uses the same sensor for coolant and air temp. It's just a thermistor right :)

<edit> and I believe GM uses the same thermistor for both air and coolant temps too, and that's why the MT default settings (which defaults to GM sensors) show the same Steinhart-Hart coefficients for both AIT and CLT

Nope, just spent 10 minutes in the car. The settings for MAT and CLT you originally listed and I copied in post #69 are correct to MegaTune within 1 degree F.

CJ, don't be rediculous. We did all the hard work, and anyone w/ a mspnp w/ a 2.5bar sensor can simply copy the settings listed.

And I *think* I've got the 4 bar map settings, but it's too hard to drive and check in boost, especially because it's wet out. I'll post the new settings as soon as I can verify.

Yeah, but where did I get them 3 months ago? Cause those definitely don't match the matfactor.ini file I have here at work (just downloaded from the megasquirtpnp.com website), which I posted verbatim in post 72
