You need to use the .inc file

Code:

; Generated using EasyTherm4.exe,
;
; Air Temp Thermistor Comment Field
;
; File generated for use with stock 2490 ohm resistor at R4
;
; Steinhart-Hart coefficients:  A= 1.505975E-03  B=2.249965E-04  C= 1.247472E-07
;
; Input Data:    Temp, degF    Resistance
;            -4          28681
;            86            2238
;          210            177
;

MATFACTOR:
            ;    ADC  Temp, degF
    DB    100T    ;    0    Sensor Failure - 100% applied
    DB    255T    ;    1    430.95
    DB    255T    ;    2    366.12
    DB    255T    ;    3    332.10
    DB    255T    ;    4    309.44
    DB    255T    ;    5    292.61
    DB    255T    ;    6    279.32
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    DB      0T    ;  251    -51.52
    DB      0T    ;  252    -58.93
    DB      0T    ;  253    -69.01
Sorry, typo; that's what I've been using/showing.
Very odd. Your file has different values. I can only assume that my file at home has the same as yours then.
It looks like DIY's most recent software package includes a different/new matfactor.inc.
So has anyone tried to use the USB mod to MS and palmlog?
magnamx-5 10-24-2007 11:44 AM
I run the USB MS deal. Either the driver packet is kind of glitchy or i have reset issues cause it likes to drop com on me sometimes.
With the palm? I haven't had any issues with the USB and my computer... but then.. I haven't used it much.
Loki047 10-24-2007 12:10 PM
Ben, hows the process getting files off the palm to the comp using the CF card?
Ben 10-24-2007 12:18 PM
:dunno: I don't have a card
CJ, don't be rediculous. We did all the hard work, and anyone w/ a mspnp w/ a 2.5bar sensor can simply copy the settings listed.
And I *think* I've got the 4 bar map settings, but it's too hard to drive and check in boost, especially because it's wet out. I'll post the new settings as soon as I can verify.
Not being rediculous, i thought you were saying that he gave you values, ya'll thought they didn't work, so you did TONS of hardwork to find the correct ones. Then you tried the values already given and they worked like a charm? Maybe I need to just read the damn thread again.
Pretty badass you guys got it working.
Atlanta93LE 10-24-2007 02:41 PM
I originally posted the values I have been using on my palm since the thread began. Ben wanted to get MAP values for using his 4-bar sensor, where mine is the standard 2.5-bar. While going through that ordeal, he proposed updated settings for the 2.5-bar MAP sensor. Somebody asked about my CLT values, and while double-checking them, I downloaded the MSPNP software bundle to check out the .inc files, where the AIR values were much different. The original matfactor.inc file matches what I originally posted, however.
I'm still not sure why, if you go to the megasquirtpnp.com site right now and download the software bundle, the matfactor.inc file is different than what came bundled with my MSPNP (for w/o AFM). That's the summary.
That was an update to improve the accuracy of the IAT reading.
Atlanta93LE 10-25-2007 08:36 AM
So I'm not crazy! Thanks for relieving me of my self-doubting ;)
I think I'm going to go ahead and replace my matfactor.inc file and switch values on the PalmLog.
Ben 10-25-2007 10:00 AM
Thanks Matt. Then I assume that you suggest that we should update the older matfactor settings to the new settings? Is there anything to be made aware of?
Ben 10-25-2007 03:49 PM
Correct MAP sensor values for PalmLog:
2.5 bar, standard MS sensor, included in 90-93 PNP
Scale: .964
Offset: 9.108
4.0 bar, upgrade sensor for MS and 90-93 PNP, included in 94-95 PNP
Scale: 1.62
Offset: 4
The 2.5 bar settings above will be the default settings in the next version of PalmLog.
:rofl: Is there ever going to be a new version? I'd love to see development continue
Ben 10-25-2007 05:22 PM
Yeah, I guess, Maybe, I dunno :dunno:
Kind of cool to know that everyone who runs PalmLog benefits from my work.
timk 10-25-2007 08:26 PM
Sweet, I've got an old Palm I could try this on. This would be awesome for tuning cold start settings I reckon.
May as well get this dope wars game too. It is highly addictive. http://www.download.com/DopeWars-Pal...-10500611.html
