Default High idle for just short time on startup

I'm having trouble figuring out idle any help would be appreciated.

On startup idle shoots up to 3k then after a few seconds it settles down. I hate messing with settings without knowing what's going on (happens more than I'd like to admit, but I am learning), and can't seem to find info on this specifically. I have found high idle problems, but I idle fine everywhere else aside from this issue. Just trying to figure out closed loop.

Thanks for the help.

tune the mspnp2 so it doesnt shoot up to 3k, then after a few seconds settles down.

It's under IAC cranking postion or crank duty I think. You'll just want to bring it down a few % at a time so it gradually drops that initial rev-up but not to where it makes the car harder to start.

Pdexta -- Thanks this gives me the info I was asking for to understand it better. Seems to be idle cranking duty table. Just was getting more confused the more I messed with it. Didn't want to change to many settings without understanding. Again, thanks.

Braineack -- So glad I wasted a few seconds reading your post and a few more writing this.

it's not necessarily bad advice, you need to find the setting that tells the MS what idle duty% to keep the idle valve at during and after cranking. Then tune it, so it doesn't shoot to 3K, but stays around 1200-1500rpm, like a normal car, then settles back down your idle targets as CL is engaged.

start by looking at the cranking duty table, and initial idle duty table and compare it to the duty% you actually run at a normal idle speed.
