e85 and holset hx35 what size injectors??

ok i gotta slap myself outta looking at 550s, and just get on to the fact i need something alot bigger soon, im gonna be running a holset hx35 and e85 in the near future. i just got my t3 adapter today, so i can run it off my stock bp26 bpt manifold. so who heres got e85 on thier bpt's??? what size injectors are you running? right now im using ms1e, but im gonna move on to ms2 and 4 bar map soon. i also have a built motor that im still lazily putting together, it has wiseco 8.5's mazda 323 gtr rods, a corksport head upgrade, and web cams. only this damn stock bp just loves 18psi, but i also dont beat on it much so it should last a little while atleast...lol.... now itll pop tomarrow...lol...lol..... what ever, any ways make me some suggestions, i have e85 withing 5 minutes of work. so the only thing is getting the same grade all the time which i wont know till i get the flexfuel sensor and ms2 in...... i may be getting a spair ms to do all this to, so i dont have mine down for any time at all, and ill also just have it around just incase...

anyone??

18psi 06-14-2010 10:25 PM

Any smaller and you'll be upgrading within a week

yunvmyegt 06-14-2010 10:29 PM

no, he's kidding, you really just want some blue top 1.6 injectors and 400psi of fuel pressure.

Get an FPR capable of 90psi base (fuelab) and some ID1000s.

yunvmyegt 06-14-2010 10:54 PM

na ive just never looked into ones for a turbo that big, i think i can run e85 on some 660s with the turbo i have now....lol.... i do plan on making a 93 tune and an e85 tune for when im not anywhere near e85 so i can atleast fill up. so 1000s shold cover me for that turbo and i should be able to get the same idle with them on pump gas? right now its still my daily, and its lots of fun, but if were getting e85 more around here, im all for it...

JBalla1036 06-14-2010 11:16 PM

1000cc FTW!!! lol Which turbine housing are you using on that HX? I would have thought you would have went with the HY since it will spool sooner then the HX. Either way I have a feeling it will be pretty laggy on such a small displacement motor, just like they are on SRs. But when it hits it will be like a freight train, I can guarantee you that lol.

yunvmyegt 06-14-2010 11:20 PM

i didnt get the turbo yet, i can get one for 300 bucks with low miles right down the road. if i can find an hy id take that too instead.... figure even just suggest me a turbo and injectors...lol..... anything t3 flanged...

yunvmyegt 01-02-2011 08:14 PM

ok so this is an old thread, but i messed up a few disc's in my back at work, and this is al kinda being pushed off for the time being..... im still doing it, but instead of the hx35 i ended up getting a nice low miles hy35 that ill be running externally gated. im building a -10an fuel rail, and going with bigger lines front to back in due time. but while im still getting parts together, im looking at ordering injectors this week . have anyone used the subi 1000s off ebay? theyre pretty cheap, i have been looking at the msd 2015s too, but im really open to anything. soo if you guys could give me some suggetions on brands to look into, or places to get them? im looking for maybe 250-350 range id rather be in the 250-300, but either works....

figured i wouldnt bother making a new thread, im more or less just finally getting back to this...lol...

falcon 01-02-2011 08:18 PM

You can buy 800cc or 1000cc injectors from Deuchwerks (sp?) for so cheap now, I don't know why you would be looking at anything else.

yunvmyegt 01-02-2011 08:22 PM

cause im a cheap bastard...lol.. figured id atleast get opinions on other brands the dw 1000s are like 399 and shipping right?

TurboTim 01-02-2011 09:26 PM

Cheap bastard eh. The smallest Moran injector is 1000cc @ $137. Low impedance.

http://www.moranmotorsports.com/prod...20injector.JPG

yunvmyegt 01-02-2011 09:42 PM

never heard of those, but they look cool..lol....

but these are the ones i was looking at, just kinda seeing if anyone else has used them before?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/4-Sub...Q5fCarQ5fParts

18psi 01-02-2011 10:13 PM

probably not since they don't work on our cars without modifying the fuel rail seating.

yunvmyegt 01-02-2011 10:26 PM

what do you mean by fuel seating? are pte's any good theyre in my price range? i mean im not opposed to low or high ohm, i heard low with a resistor box will be faster tho.... but then i also hear not to use pintle style that big, or it could make for a shitty idle...

18psi 01-02-2011 10:29 PM

subaru injectors are shorter and have a different spray pattern IIRC.
there's a thread about it.

My ID1000's idle excellent.

Savington 01-02-2011 10:30 PM

If you actually need a 1000cc injector, you should really pony up for the ID1000s - they are just under $500 for a set of 4. A quick google search is more convincing than anything I can write here - they have an excellent reputation in every application they're used in.

yunvmyegt 01-02-2011 10:40 PM

ahh thats gay, i couldnt find that thread yesterday for some reason.... id have swore i tried subaru and wrx injectors....

and ya ive looked at the id's if i could find a set used in my price range id be down, but i cant afford to be spending 400+ for injectors..... i usually manage to find everything really cheap...lol... hell i only paid like 200 shipped for my holset with like 60k on it, and it looks brand new...lol... ill search around for id's some more see what i can come up with tho... new or used works for me...lol...

nixapgt 01-02-2011 10:57 PM

search the honda-tech forced induction classifieds for used injectors. i bought my precision 1000's for less than $200. i'll switch from my 560's to those when my built engine goes in. you will love the hy35. mine makes me smile everytime i drive my car.

yunvmyegt 01-02-2011 11:27 PM

i found a set of pte 1000s for 250 shipped only used for a dyno run, the guy went to 1600s so pretty much no miles... im still seeing who calls or text me back that i find...

how off are those in fitting, aside from the plug?

jtothawhat 01-02-2011 11:28 PM

FIC 1600's FTW, or poney up for ID2200's

Sean 01-02-2011 11:40 PM

Look for some RC's as wells they can be found in your price range on ebay all day. I just damb near stole a set of RC 750's for $100 and that was for 6 of them because my car has a 2j in it. So if you look you will find them I promise you. I am also a cheap ass and refused to pay anywhere near $300 for injectors.

yunvmyegt 01-02-2011 11:59 PM

i may have found some rc's local on ebay , theyre 65 each or make offer. maybe i can get them for 50 each ...lol..

Sean 01-03-2011 12:04 AM

Here is an ad I just found on craigslist of a guy parting out his turbo build and he has a set of percision 1600's for a honda for $275 you can see if he would ship them to you.

http://harrisburg.craigslist.org/pts/2133771346.html

yunvmyegt 01-03-2011 12:12 AM

i think the highest i wanna get atm is 1000s, when i get the other motor together and the holset on, then ill find out if i need bigger....lol..... i dont even know how fast ill be running e85, but im putting these in and selling my little 460s so i can atleast get the rest out of my current turbo and know im not runing short...lol...

thanks for looking, im on searchtempest too seeing what i can find....lol..

yunvmyegt 01-03-2011 10:10 PM

so how bad would pte's be? therye nice and cheap, but i hear people complain about tuning with them? anyone use them before?

Savington 01-03-2011 10:14 PM

You'll probably regret not buying the IDs - nothing else will idle like those will.

yunvmyegt 01-03-2011 10:20 PM

ya im sure i will, but i really only want to spend like 300 for injectors....lol... what else do you suggest? is it the style of injector that makes it that much better? i mean id really like a set of ev14s i might just get the subi ones i posted, with the extenders for 300 bucks...

Savington 01-03-2011 10:25 PM

I love the arbitrary spending limit. Never mind the fact that you'll end up with a sub-par injector and still spend 60% of the money you would have spent on the best injectors on the market.

I don't recommend anything else in the 1000cc range - you're talking about a very serious setup at that point, and if you can't afford to shell out the extra $200 for injectors I'm not sure you'll be able to afford all of the other supporting mods to make a 300-400whp Miata work well.

yunvmyegt 01-03-2011 10:31 PM

i really dont get that? i need injectors and a wastegate, and its about all i have left to buy. the motors built with gtr rods and wiseco pistons, web cams, and a corksport head upgrade. so i dont really see where i cant afford to get the power im after? ive been out on workers comp for 6 months, if they paid me better, or i was working again, id spend 500 bucks on injectors with out really caring...lol... im cheap im not poor...lol...

18psi 01-03-2011 10:35 PM

wow, just wow

yunvmyegt 01-03-2011 10:42 PM

i dunno i have a way i do things, and they always seem to work out....lol....hell i dont have a cent into the motor... but what ever, im not trying to start shit, im just asking for opinions on somethign other that ID's....

Can you afford to lose a high-buck motor to save a relatively few bucks for injectors? Wait 'till you can get the 'right' injectors....

BTW, Are you using a 'pulsed' manifold with the 'X-35? What range does this thing start to spool at with the Miata motor?

So why start the thread, then?

im not trying to start shit, im just asking for opinions on somethign other that ID's....
A few members use Deatschwerkes, I have no experience with them but they seem to be well-liked. I have been smitten with my IDs, as has everyone else who has used them. Beyond that, there's a lot of Rx7 injectors, Supra injectors, or RC injectors. Nobody who knows what they are doing runs "subi" injectors or Wizards or any of the other readily available trash from eBay. I have used Rx7 460s, RC750s, and ID1000s and the IDs idle the smoothest out of all 3.

I hate hate hate spending limits. "well I want to spend 300 on injectors" - that's great, but good injectors cost $500. This applies to basically any part out there - your arbitrary "budget" for a certain item has absolutely no bearing on the cost of that item. If you have $200 to spend on a clutch, and you can buy an absolute piece of garbage for $175 or the best clutch on the market for $300, are you really going to waste $175 on the garbage clutch to "stay within your budget"? You can waste $300 on subpar injectors, find out that they aren't E85 compatible or aren't rated for high fuel pressure, or you can wait a month or two and get the right injectors. We see it here at least once a week - "well u guyz i only hav 1000 to spend on a trbo kit wut shuld i get?"

High quality parts also hold their value quite well - good luck finding a set of IDs for less than $400 even on the used market. That goes for other high-quality parts - name-brand clutches, FM/BEGi turbo parts, etc. all command a premium on the used market since they are quality parts.

When I start a project or look into an upgrade, I look at what my goals are and then determine the cheapest way to effectively fulfill my goals. I don't start by picking a number out of a hat and then trying to get the project done within that arbitrary budget. If you build a car on a strict budget, you end up with a car that's not particularly well sorted, or a car that's missing a few items, and there's still a lot of money missing from your wallet. If you stretch the budget when necessary, you end up with a car that's going to be more reliable, easier to live with, and you won't miss the extra cash for a second.

18psi 01-04-2011 08:28 AM

DW is good quality. I've had good experience with their smaller injectors and am fairly certain their 1000's are good or at least not bad.
ID so far have been great and I'm impressed with them.

Anything else you might think you may be able to get away with is either not common, not really tested, and kind of a "pave your own way" sort of deal. If you want to test and experiment on your built motor and run the risk of blowing it up by all means more power to ya.

Only 2 companies KNOWN to put out good quality 1000cc injectors for the miata right now are DW and ID. Both just came out less than a year ago. Neither are common in the classifieds because people just got their new ones.

You can wait it out and get a used set over time, or take your chances with a ghetto-rigged setup.

yunvmyegt 01-04-2011 03:55 PM

well what im talking about is i buy and sell parts all the time, theyre not worth as much to me as others people because i can almost always find them cheaper usually...

anyways im probably going to get pte's local cheap , if i need something different, ill do it down the road.... unless i find something in the mean time...e85 is an option, its not on top of my list of things to get done tho... and the pte's arent rated for ethanol anyways.... i mean i could probably just find some 750-850s run 93 like i do now and be done...

i found a few sets of ID's for around 300, if i can get them ill deffinatly try them out...

and im using an hy35 not hx, i didnt want to spend the money on a pulsed manifold right now.... if i change from the hy ever ill get a manifold made, a guy local does them for about 500 bucks...

and im still confused with why your so againt the subi injectors? look at the id's they use caps too, therye not direct fit with out them, and theyre both ev14's i think... not saying theyre better, but im just asking?

one more thing, ghetto rigging?...lol... no..... im not a hack and ive never been, im a cheap ass, but i always manage to get where i want to be...lol... its not a brand new car, if it was i wouldnt have a problem buying everything top of the line. its a 95 escort with a built bpt motor, im not trying to get crazy power, i just want more than the near 300ish i have now.... its a toy its not my life....

RattleTrap 01-05-2011 12:44 AM

HY! My bad. I could have sworn I read HX. I guess the X is still on my mind.
Escort! Have you been to turboford.org? You fit the profile...:D

yunvmyegt 01-05-2011 12:56 AM

ya i just couldnt change the title when i rebumped this thread, but no ive never been there, i usually stay on mazda forums, its really just the sheet metal thats ford on it, the rest is mazda bg chassis.... i only made my way here back when i went ms, theres atleast more people who are using it here who are alot more helpfull than the other forums i find. basically theres more money into the miatas, and more people with money to upgrade them, unlike most of the people who would normally buy a car like mine.... ive had a dozen gt's this is the first i turboed tho, and now im moving on to see what else i can get out of it...lol... i dunno atleast its not a fucking honda...lol...

shuiend 01-05-2011 01:23 AM

I have a random side question, what are GTX rods that you mention you are using. As far as I have seen, the rods in the 323 GTX are not any stronger then stock miata rods.

Also save up an extra $100 and go with the DW1000's if you are going to buy injectors.

Gotpsi? 01-05-2011 01:25 AM

Its good to see more Holsets on here, Ive had good luck with my HY and it was free, I read the thread from the first post and I thought you where a bit crazy when you said you where going to use the hx, although i would be curious to see how a turbo capable of 600whp would spool on your motor. Also the compressor is about the same from my research, they do make larger turbine housings if you cant get enough out of your HY, I forget the company but they make a 10cm,12cm and a 16cm housings.

yunvmyegt 01-05-2011 01:37 AM

http://img254.imageshack.us/i/rodcom...6tfd1.jpg/sr=1

those are gtr, gtx/bp, and gtx/b6t rods for comparison

ya theyre super cheap, its the exact same compressor as an hx35 and flow about 61-62lbs a minute. and for what a gt35r cost, i can get a dozen of these..lol... bep makes housings for everything but the hy's if you do find some one else let me know tho. right now im just welding the flap closed and will be running a tial to open dump....

yunvmyegt 01-10-2011 08:52 PM

so i got a brand new set of rc1200s for 200 shipped, theyll be here weds.... ill see how those work i couldnt pass up the deal.... thread can be closed thanks....
