After sorting out some issues with the cas (im using an escort gt distributor) she fired right up...idled a bit high but otherwise sounded just like stock. And then after about a minute i burned up the coil pack because i mistakenly set it to inverted output

Just needed to vent a bit...but on a better note im using this as an excuse to upgrade and i'll be checkin out the local junkyard this week for some cop's.

 

How could you man, after all the info on this forum saying not to run inverted when using DIYs mods.
Oh well, atleast it's running, good luck finding COPs.

 

Yea i know but at first i made a mistake in setting up the distributor and when i tried to start the car it was obviously way out of time...I gave it a shot with it being inverted and it sounded much better but still didnt start. Later i realized the mistake with the distributor but forgot to set the inverted output back.

Oh well...**** happens. I wanted to do a cop setup eventually anyways, this just sped up the plans a bit lol.

A distributor from an escort gt produces almost the same signal as a miata cas so i just removed the cap and rotor and used that instead.
