Default 1.6L to 1.8L Conversion... What Throttle Body???

I decided to start building a 1.8L to drop into my car for next summer. Just have a few questions about what i actually need. I have a DIY Standalone Megasquirt and a COP setup. So basically my question is, Do i need to get the FM Throttle Body adapter or can I just run the 1.8L throttle body seeing as I have an MS. I know it's not going to be plug and play for the throttle body so what exactly would have to be ran? Also on a side note, should i try and get the throttle cable from the donor car as well?

I don't know about the throttle cable issue. I do know that you can use the 1.8 TPS just fine as well as the 1.8 IAC. Obviously the connectors won't be correct if they changed year to year but you can easily splice the 1.8 connectors in.
Finding a FM adapter would make life easier, has to be a used one somewhere for you to get at a fair price.
If the throttle cable was too long you can get an adjustable throttle end, they have like 4-5" of adjustment in them i believe.

So i take it the 1.6 TB has the same diameter opening as the 1.8L. Also I think i may just block off the IAC so i don't have to deal with it. Does the MS really need to see a TPS signal? If i left the TB unplugged and kept my acel. table to map dot would i run into any issue?

You don't need TPS, its just a nice feature that adds functionality to EBC, IAC, AE, and Overrun.
If you left the TPS unplugged and used mapdot you'd be fine.

I don't know if you have A/C but driving around without and IAC with A/C turned on will make you hate life as the car will constantly stall out without throttle modulation. Paul gets away with no IAC due to the lack of A/C I suppose. It's not hard to splice a connector you lazy ***.

I dont have A/C... Also i was under the impression that it wasn't just a matter of splicing a connector. Remember i will be using the complete 1.6L engine harness and MS. Dont i have to run extra wires and modify my MS to properly read a Full range tps?

I was talking about the IAC connector, the TPS would need extra wiring I believe.

Oh ok, then we are one the same page. I'm going to blocking off the iac and most likely the egr. that just leaves the tps and a mount for my c.o.p.s Then a call to etd for a 1.8L greddy mani....

Seriously though, What has to be added for a variable tps? Do i have to open the MS or just run some wires?

Run some wires for the TPS, MS shouldn't need to be opened, there is most likely a pin on the middle connector already dedicated to the TPS. More can be found on that with a search I'm sure.

I shall contact braineack (the builder of my MS) about what exactly needs to be done on my specific unit. Thanks for the help...

Ohh you have a braineack MS. Well if there isn't a blue 20 gauge wire hanging out of the DB37 already that says TPS on it then you need to add a wire to pin 22. If you are running standalone you will also need to run a wire from the DB37 on pin 26, its the 5 vref for the TPS.

run the 1.8 t-body. I have the configuration notes for the IAC control in threads in this forum, just search, they are pics. The 1.8 t-body is larger I believe. Leave the throttle cable and get the fm adapter bracket because its a bitch to swap cables.

the blue tps wire and gray 5vref wire are both probably connected into the db37, but cut short and hidden within the loom....that or i didn't add them
