Hi everyone, I recently got my car tuned by a local shop recommended by someone on here. The results leave a lot to be desired (see attached picture). I had more torque before the tune (stock ECU)t and the car felt pretty crappy last week on the track.
The car is an 01 vvt with a vics intake manifold. Crossover around 5300 or so iirc.
Assuming there's nothing wrong with the motor, why do I have no torque? Peak power seems to be ok.
Could there be a motor issue I can't think of? I can't imagine an issue that would cause no mid-range but allow the car to make good power up top.
Note: they couldn't get the induction reading working on the dyno so he got the rpm from calibrating the gearing or something. Also note the scale for the torque.
Also, the tuner asked me to bring the car back for them to take a look so hopefully they will figure it out. But this first pass (and how much I paid) leave me with a bit of a bad taste in my mouth. So any advice or opinions greatly appreciated.
If I was smarter I would have attached it lol. Oops. Unfortunately the car is inaccessible now as it's on the trailer already to take to the shop tomorrow.
My most likely scenarios are: 1) a crappy tune, 2) exhaust leak maybe? I had to remove it for a diff swap but seems unlikely to affect it so much 3) the rpm switch isn't working, but again that seems like way too big of a difference.
Let's see what happens at the tuner and I'll try to get a copy of the actual table
OP, I had a pretty severe torque dip around 3500. But, much worse than this. Do you have cats? Mine were melted to hell and back, and it was pretty much like that. OK up top, dead down low, no matter how I tuned my VVT table.

Good luck.
Thanks! I have a racing beat mid pipe with no cat. There might be an exhaust leak then? I just can't imagine it would only kill the midrange. But who knows, stranger things have happened.
