Default Help me test MS3 firmware! Win stuff!

Hey homies,

Long time, no see. Sorry, I've been super busy here developing new ECUs, managing engineers, and moving us to a new facility. Oh, and starting a family and building and then essentially totaling a brand new race car at its first event. I don't get to be social so much anymore. We've got some new ECU products coming down the line that will have additional features, but we want to continue supporting existing products, so we have upcoming firmware updates that will be compatible with all MS3 ECU variants.

Reason for this appearance is I need some help testing new MS3 firmware, 1.5 A7. I'd like to get this firmware promoted to release in the shortest timeframe possible. To help enable that, I'm going to offer store credit and raffle entries for folks who help me out. The raffle grand prize will be a new MS3Pro Ultimate ECU ($1500 retail value), and it will be limited to only 30 participants, so odds of winning are good.

What I'll need from you is to install the firmware to your MS3 -- it would be compatible with ANY variant MS3 (MSPNP Pro, MS3 DIY kits, MS3Pro, etc). Test it well, make sure all your features work well still, and play with any new features you find interesting. After giving it a go-through, I'll have a survey for you to answer that asks application-specific questions, give me any and all feedback (what works better, what doesn't, any trouble you ran into), and you'll upload your tune file and datalog. That's it. You get some swag, I get the feedback I need to keep rapid firmware development moving. This is a win-win.

F/W can be downloaded here:
MS3 Development Releases - Megasquirt EFI
We're looking to test the newest ALPHA firmware, currently 1.5 A7.

Matt will be by later with full details on everything. You guys are my homies, so I wanted to give you a head start.

Stop playing so much 4v4 SC2 and you will have more time for mt.net. I see you on there all the time.

I will try to give 1.5 A7 a try in the next few days. Sunday will probably be the soonest I can actually go take it for a drive. I would be coming from 1.4/1.4.1 so anything specific you would want me to look for?

Would love to test the new Noise Filter on MSLabs MS3-Basic, assuming that this includes Crank and Camshaft inputs.

So should I wait to order my mspnp pro for my mazdaspeed because of the new stuff becoming available, or order it and test the new firmware?

I've never needed to use a noise filter on a Miata. Something else is wrong.

If you have prior MegaSquirt experience, I'd go ahead and order and test the firmware. If you're new to it, I'd suggest running the current stable release firmware.

I leave the computer logged in all the time.

We'd like to see wide and diverse testing. Some of the specific things we're looking for are the new Engine States functions, dome pressure boost control, and nitrous control.. I later 2 are usually drag race setups. What I really need is to see as many combos (engine types, trigger wheel types, power adders, spare I/O use, rev limiters like launch and flat shift) as possible.

Details on the new testing program, with incentives for fast testing:

Grand prize is a new MS3Pro Ultimate ECU, but I can sub a MSPNP Pro if desired...

Too bad I'm months away from finishing my build. As a Test Engineer, I'd be all over this.

I've been on 1.5 since it came out. I ran my car on it for a little bit. Everything seems pretty good. Car isn't running right now.

I like what you are doing though.

Everything seemed to be working for me the last time I ran though. Anything specific?

Edit: UGGGG, why didn't i see this yesterday before I pulled the oil line from my turbo. Engine still runs.

I think im going to have to reinstall it now just to enter the raffle.

Or will a log from 1.5 alpha 3 count as an entry?

1.5A9 released today with several (mostly minor) bug fixes. Please test and send in your surveys at the link. Raffle entry is about 50% full.

Will test again. Sent some feedback last time about a weird tune corrupting the firmware. Had to put the boot jumper on and reflash the firmware.

When do we hear who got the store credits?

Everyone who has already responded by completing the survey and sending in the requested data will be issued store credit. There's 10 or so slots left.

Thanks to those that helped. 1.5.0 release is scheduled for Monday.

If you completed the survey as requested, my man John should be contacting you next week re: awarding of prizes.
