Also, in addition to the "TunerStudio Manual" for your MS type and FW, there is important information to be found in the "Setting Up Manual". Helps you understand the info that may already be in the Base Map provided by the builder.

Items alredy arrived, finally I have my full kit for going Supercharged. 28 March start the building proyect.
I want to fit first the AFR gauge with the innovate LC2 system, I expect not having any problem, following the manual and greg´s video on youtube.
Also received the KnockSense MS kit, has somebody got experience installing this kit and wiring to the MS?? The instructions are very very short, so I would like to read about somebodys installation,
In SC installation, is recommendable to install a boost gauge?? I ask because I have it at home also, but I was thinking at first to put AFR+Boost on the center air blowers but may be too many gauges there, so now I am thinking about installing on the left air diffuser. Is important to know when I am on boost?? Why?
Thanks guys"!!!!!!!

It is very very difficult to tune a car at 100% of the posibbilities that this fantastic ecu gives.
i have been reading for hours, as much as posible for getting wet of it during my flights. tomorrow I will print everithing, almost for me is easier to study with paper wich i can highlight and takes notes.
after some days I will start asking some questions.
if anybody of you could analize the given map from reverant personally i will be grateful, and receiving some tips for starting, but not yet, i have to do some homework.
i really want to control technically this ecu, because where i live there is nobody who does.
thanks for the orientation, now is easier.
only read, understand, ask and put in practice.
please pm me for the map. Is for nb 01-05
Are you Spanish speaking Josh?

I have a friend in Spain who owns a Miata and belongs to a local forum there. Maybe he could be a good source for you too. If interested, send me a pm and we'll talk.

Rafa

Thanks DN Makinson for your reply, I will study that manual also, thank you for the information.
For braineack,
my MS is the ms2 enhanced ecu for 01-05 miata ( mine is 2001 146hp)
The attached pictures show my ECU DB37 arness and the wiring diagram.
Is as easy as unbolting the two bolts of the db37 connector and solder to the pin Nş27, close and finish?
What I dont undrstan is the second part of the diagram, those squared boxes, jumpers, what and for what are them??
How can I know if my MS is V2 board or V3 board??
Thank you for your interest and more for your help.

instead the MS, the input from the knocksense, has to connect to the correct spot on the CPU. so you must make that connection.

coordinate with ms labs on performing that, it may already be wired up on your extra input/output connector.

Another concrete doubt:
In reference with ignition settings:
miata nb 2001 vvt, wich module to choose from the "oficialy supported" list of megasquirt?? (megamanual, configure, page 16/23)
thanks in advance!

dont read the megamanual. If you have to read at all you should be reading the MS2extra.com MS-2 manuals, and well as the Tuner Studio MS-2 manuals.

Reading random MS documents is just going to leave you more confused.

fwiw, It's more than likely your ECU doesn't support VVT control. It was build, by hand, by Dimitris of MSLabs.com. But it's already wired and setup to run your miata, you need the documentation provided by MSlabs about your specific ECU.

Dear braineack,
thank you for getting involve into this project, I feel a little better when I read replys.
doesnt matter having read those manuals, I learn many concepts that for sure are basic for any tuning.
The instructions given by dimitris are only 3 pages, so I cant belive it is so easy, knowing now the huge number of variables that are involved.
my main problem is that this ECU is coming from a Turbo car, while mine is Sc, with other injectors, etc, and a new map must be elaborated, now I know that I wont have problems as a TC map will have less advance, so I will be rich, always better than lean.
dimitri has alredy sent me a base map for my 01 miata with those little instructions, so I need to learn as much as possible before connecting it the first time, because for sure it must be tunned.
I only want to make it working, stable idle, and not too rich as i want to conserve my catalyzer by the time, install the injectors, tune a litle for running them ok, install the sc and IC and drive ASAP to the profesional tuner with dyno.
i will print the manuals you mention this afternoon and start studiying them.
this week wide band and gauge will be installed with stock ECU.
Best regards!!

Less advance will avoid of knocking and it will be rich for sure, If it had a decent tune of course...

If Dimitris sent you a base map you have nothing to worry about. Use the base map, tune only the fuel and fine tune the idle and most of your problems will be solved. His base maps are usually very good.

Dimitri's builds the units custom and his files will all be custom. They don't work like the ones that are from other sources because they use different computer boards.
