Idle strangeness during warm up

Idle strangeness during warm up
MS2e Rev built on a MSM.
Start the car when cold, it settles into CL idle fine. Once I get moving and then come back to a stop I am often seeing a higher RPM than I should (500-1000 RPM higher than normal) and am not going into CL idle. If I turn the car off and restart, settles into CL idle. If I instead keep driving it seems it will eventually settle back down as well...maybe as I get out of warm up?
