Ok, I have a '97, I just installed the megasquirt I got from leatherface... I can't for the life of me get the damn thing to connect to my computer! I have downloaded megatune, and I am running a serial to USB cable with all the proper drivers installed, and megatune still says something to the effect of "cannot communicate with selected COM port" I have tried all the ports under communication settings, and none of them work... IDK if it makes a difference but only the two outside LEDS (there are three) light up when the ignition is on...

 

Does it make a noise, when you plug the usb plug in on your laptop?

 

go into your computers control pannel... system... hardware... device manager.See what communcation port your usb to serial adapter is on. connect megatune to that port.

Post up the brand of USB to serial adapter you are using.
