90 with Megasquirt PNP v1 won't start
I've been reading about Megasquirt for a few weeks now and I thought I understood what was going on, but I've been trying for a while to get the car to start and I'm stuck. Can someone review my base map and tell me where I screwed up? If you can point me to a known good configuration I can probably figure out the differences.
I picked up an original MegaSquirt PNP off craigslist for a song. I've gone over it thoroughly. It seems to be in great shape and it appears the previous owner set it up for a variable TPS.
The car is completely stock (as far as I know), still using the AFM. So far I have removed the ST SIGN fuse and disconnected the TPS sensor.
It cranks and seems like it wants to start but won't catch. I can smell gas but I haven't verified spark yet, it's freezing outside.
At one point I could see the RPM gauge move in TunerStudio but I messed with a bunch of settings grabbing things from any number of websites that seemed to make sense. I screwed something up and no longer see any movement on the gauge.
Before I packed up for the day I verified my ignitor still worked by swapping back to the stock ECU and turning the car on. Everything seemed great, but I realized as I was writing this post that I never put the ST SIGN fuse back in and left the TPS disconnected. Is that normal? I've noticed some splices on my wiring harness, they seem good but I haven't done a thorough investigation.

I got the car started, I had to re-create my Project and import the map again. I must have missed a step the first time because things looked very different this time (there were 182 changes when I reconnected the ECU!!).
The car ran and I spent some time setting the timing. I had to change the Trigger Angle to 54*. Is that out of spec? Should I adjust the sensor on the head and get this back closer to 65*?
My idle is a mess. I let the car warm up and it got worse. I've attached a log and my "tune". The car still has the narrow band installed. I have an LC-1 I want to wire in when it warms up a bit, for now I'm just trying to get a stock configuration setup.
In the log you'll see a bunch of saw tooth action. The RPM fluctuated more and more as the car got warmer and warmer. By the end it was bouncing from 1300-2900. I tried turning the idle screw up and down a bit but it didn't make much of a difference.
What do you, the experts, recommend? Do you see any glaring issues?
