Fuel table was tuned up to 220kpa

Think about it. If your cutting 4 of 5 sparks that's basically 80% cut or on a wasted spark 40% if excess un burnt fuel in the exhaust manifold finds it's way into another chamber it will stop spark ignition further cutting ignition with more Unburnt fuel. Eventually your gunna flood and lockup. And this during flat shift high rpm / inertia changes risks engine damage

You need to look up what pin your clutch switch goes too. It should be the same as what Brain uses and I know he has posted it before. You can also find it by looking up the factory shop manual and looking at the harness diagram. You may have it wired incorrectly.

My MS is totaly different as Im running PNP2 with the 1.3 board. I was just asking if he had to do anything weird because of cruise control etc..

as far as DIYautotune folks see, nothings wrong with MS and everything is wired correctly.

I'm curious to know if anyone has used LC on a 1.6 before or not.

yes and no...

not that has it ever been used before, of course it has. but has anyone had as much trouble as I have even with a pnp2 unit?

ScottyP3821 03-24-2014 03:43 PM

you probably have the wrong output selected in your settings

In the new firmware 3.3.1 the setting for the clutch switch is launch. That's what it is set to in tunerstudio. 2.5.05.

How do you know that? What are your sources?

zero415 03-25-2014 12:16 PM

sources Per Matt Cramer in my MSPNP thread : https://www.miataturbo.net/mspnp-55/...v-limit-77933/

ScottyP3821 03-25-2014 04:56 PM

Ok are you sure you flashed it with the right version of the firmware as there are a few to pick from in the cmd/terminal window

Yeah the mspnp2 because that's what I have.

I have logs that I can post with my tune.

Updated:

uploaded a copy of my base tune/log.

yes, i know that the tables are not scaled yet, but im still working on things.

ScottyP3821 03-26-2014 09:46 AM

Your settings look ok overall. Do us all a favor though and never post a tune as CurrentTune give it a unique name. We all have files on our computer labeled CurrentTune and it makes people not want to download your file and help you out. Another thing you may want to check is your clutch switch. The one that is located at the top of the clutch. It may not be working at all. You could replace it on I'd imagine jump the plug with a wire to see if it activates LC.

Sorry about that. I can reload it with a different name.

On my car i have two switches. the first one has a brown/white wire and looks like it controls the cruise control and then one at the other end when the clutch is too the floor which im assuming is the starter interlock switch.

I also dont have a TPS since its a 1.6. I unplugged the top switch that went to the brown/white and jumped it and i still was unable to activate launch control. here is my msq/log file.

UPDATE!!!!:

If you have a 1.6 and are NOT using a vTPS you can set the calibrations for open/close to be 90 for close and 0 for open. You will get an error message about the values but accept them anyways. you will notice that your TPS always reads 100% but the MSPNP2 doesnt/cant read the values anyways. No additional sensors to unplug unless you dont want LC on while in neutral.

Little old thread but i have a question, ive read here that you can unplug the neutral switch.

Is that correct? My launch control is always engaged except when i'm in gear and clutch is depressed.

Im not sure how yours is wired in the ms but yes unplug the neutral switches regardless

Vincentmiata 05-06-2014 11:15 AM

I figured out the clutch input is wired on to the launch control input. So it was not used on my MS3x

So now figure out how i can reach the wiring of the neutral switch

ScottyP3821 05-06-2014 11:48 AM

I just jack up the car, crawl under it and bare hug the trans till you feel two plugs. Ne sure not to disconnect the bullet shaped ones rather the squarish ones.

He had some trouble with spin on first and ran mid-9's. Then ran a 8.78 and an 8.79. Won the true street class.

Had me verifying that my MS can run launch control with only tuning involved, and looking into:

205-50R15 should work on my stock rims and present power. Shouldn't break anything if launched correctly.

Onyxyth 04-08-2017 11:16 PM

^Hmm, what?

DNMakinson 04-08-2017 11:45 PM

Crap. I had 2 threads open. This post was supposed to go in the picture thread.

Well, now that I've managed to resurrect this thread, I have a difficulty that could use some input.

I have used F/S for some time now. I changed the LC Speed and TPS to try it this afternoon, and NOTHING.

Some pics, logs, etc. ECU is a MS3-Basic, V2, running 1.4.1 FW. It definitely sees the clutch switch as FFS is working correctly.

Settings:

https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...5ee3063d54.png

Gave me this result (VSS1 = 0): Jumped right up to normal Rev Limit.

https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...bc5a2e8dde.png

I also attached the full msg and log: calling @patsmx5 because pretty sure you use LC.

Note, I also read yours and Son's threads, and it looks like the M&H 7.5 x 23 x 15 might be a better choice of tire for my power level.
