One more thing - I had a look at my logs - in my case the misfires only happen between 14-18% TPS and between 75-95 kPa MAP.

How can it be? every single MX5/miata running MSII & sequential exhibits this problem.
What that tells me is there's an issue with the code. It's not like this hasn't occoured before, a year or 2 ago there was an issue where you got 2 injections for the price of one at certain conditions.
Resulted in a stupid rich period and a stumble. Logs only told you the symptom, not the cause.
Thankfully DIYAutotune spotted it and scoped the injectors to prove what was happening, only then could/did the devs fix the code.

and as Richy say, every 99-00 with sequential injection seems to get this.
The lean spike indicates an injection problem for me, as cutting out ignition would get me a rich spike...
I will do an composite log and send it to James.
One more thing I wonder about - are there any running MS3 sequential on 99/00 cars - and are thy experiencing the same hickups...?

Maybe MX5s are the only bunch who tend run sequential, but hard to believe given the total number of MS users out there?
Let's hope an answer is forthcoming soon.

Don't get me wrong, I expect the issue to be code too, was more suggesting that the issue might be external and particular to MX5, otherwise you'd think it would have other folks raising the issue over at MS Extra forums.

It's also on both MX5 wheel patterns 89-97 and 98 - 2005

I can only advice all of the 99/00 MIatas to go and flash this bugfixed code.
What a joy to ride a not bucking car! The car runs smooth as silk. No misfires, just plain joy!
I can't tell you how happy I am that this is solved!
