Scott.
How looks you MS with the inverted settings and the MS-2 modification?

richyvrlimited 01-17-2010 11:44 AM

If you mean Joe's improved ignition out it's fine.

I'd reccomend MSII over MS1 from now on. With sequential it's even better.

macanha 01-18-2010 11:11 AM

a mean, a picture please. I have the ecu And I plan to do both modifications. (MS1 to MS2 and "no more pops mod!")

Tanx.!

did you look on the first page? I posted the required mods. I had to swap spark A and Spark B however (Not shown in my writeup or pictures below).

I've only just got my MS-1 running well enough to the standard where Im now re-enjoying the car and daily driving it again!

macanha 01-18-2010 12:44 PM

tanks scott. !

(but I have shop againt the cap. I buy a 1 uF instead 0.1 uF). :S

richyvrlimited 01-18-2010 01:38 PM

FWIW my car required the cap on a MS1 setup but on MS2 wouldn't rev past 3.5k removal of the cap solved the revving problem

In short try without first :)

Braineack 01-18-2010 03:10 PM

My issue right now it my battery in my laptop sucks, so I need a power inverter to actually go out and fool around with my MSII unit.

But so far it's driving and idling very smooth. this new VE Live feature in TS doesn't hurt either.

macanha 01-20-2010 01:52 PM

what firmware do you recomend?

Braineack 01-20-2010 02:11 PM

im running 2.1.1b but 3.0.x is out now so I dont see any reason not to go with the newest unless there are known bugs.

richyvrlimited 01-20-2010 04:06 PM

Unless you're running sequential injection I'd stick with the 2xxx series until 3xxxx comes out of Beta IMO.

2xxxx and 3xxxx are identical the difference is which will run sequential injection/ignition.

3.0.3q is rock solid for me. I use it on my daily driver with absolutely no problems.

Thread jack.

I notice you built the actual circuit for launch control. From what i've read isn't that unnecessary? Cant you just run a straight wire from JS11?

Also, mind splainin the dual map sensor?

Braineack 01-20-2010 06:03 PM

launch is on JS7...you fail!

Ah, well that explains it then.

Still wondering about that second map sensor...

richyvrlimited 01-20-2010 07:00 PM

it's for constant barometric correction, it's in the manual ;)

WestfieldMX5 01-21-2010 10:40 AM

but it doesn't work properly, so ignore the 2nd sensor

Braineack 01-21-2010 10:41 AM

yeah I have the corrections completely zeroed out right now anyways.

Attachment 201015

I used the megastim to change to spark inverted, the car start and everything runs fine.

Then I modify the board to install MS-2 but now i can't connect the MS to the computer to install the firmware.

What I'm doing wrong?

Attachment 201016
(by the way, I remove the "floating" resistance after the photo)

Attachment 201017

Please help!
