MS2 engine swap, 99 into 94
I have a 94 running on ms2 (see sig), and am thinking of buiding an engine to swap in. Could I use a 99 donor motor? I know people use 99 heads for better flow, and i've seen plenty of NB motors in NA cars, and it is easier for me to find NB motors in better shape.
If this is possible, what modifications are needed to get it working, or should it be plug-and play? I am just now looking into it and I know some motors have vvt, and I think COP? Which years would be easiest to make work?
Also I am wondering what I would need to do about my MS setup, are there different sensors needed for the NB engines? Or will the wiring transfer over?
Thanks guys and I'll continue to search.

A 99 engine would be a straight swop, just retrofit your current CAS onto the new engine.
You can do the same with the VVT engine too, though the coils will need the settings changing in your tuning software and you can't control the VVT (unless you move to MSIII or buy the VVT tuner and hook up the OEM sensors to it). There are other minor issues with a 2001+ swop, but nothing major.
