In the MS2-extra pin usage chart, JS1 and JS3 are empty. Does this mean they cannot be used?
I was thinking of doing this on my '99 standalone:

JS0: fans
JS1: vics
JS2: ebc
JS3: WI
JS4: contant barometric
JS5: knock input
JS11: spare output
D15: shift light

Is this possible?

 

I figured out that JS1 and JS3 cannot be used, unless I de-solder the CAN chip. Won't be doing that.

Instead I'll be doing:

JS0 vics
JS2 fans
JS4: contant barometric
JS5: knock input
JS11: EBC
D15: shift light (or WI).

I'm not sure on D15. Can it be used?

This confuses me. It seems to suggest that if one of D14,D15 or D16 is used, the others are unuseable?
Does this mean that if spark comes out of D14 and D16, that I cannot use D15 for something else?

 

No, it just means that if spark is on D14 and D16, you can't use D14 and D16 for something else.
