Default MS2 no communication with computer

I installed my MS2 in my car about 2 weeks ago and everything worked fine at the time. I drove the car 2 or 3 times working on getting the tune decent.

But a few days later i went to start the car and it wouldnt run at all unless i would give it throttle and the computer stopped communicating with the MS2. The AFR was reading way rich (between 10-12 when on the throttle and way lean the second i let off, 22.4 so i think it was cutting fuel and so it wouldnt idle at all) I tried reloading my driver software (I'm using a Gigaware serial to usb adapter) and also uninstalled and reinstalled tuner studio and no results. I even removed all my previous files to start fresh, now i cant get the computer to communicate at all with it

As of now im just running the stock setup because this is my DD so i cant afford to not have it running.

I am a complete newb when it comes to cars and FI tuning (I know motocross bikes and carbs lol). Im not the best with computers and diagnosing this type of issue so needless to say im really frustrated at this point. I had plans of a turbo(already have everything for it but i wanted to get familiar with megasquirt before going all in with the turbo)

If you guys could help me that would great. Also if anyone lives near me, Baton Rouge LA, it would be awesome if you could help me as i dont learn well from reading forums, i really prefer hands on learning.

First try reloading the firmware; if you get an error message, please post a screen shot.

Ok, i now have communication with the computer again after reloading the firmware. Now the car will not idle and runs really rough still. I reloaded the base map as well as my old map that i used when the car ran, all has the same results.

The car cranks up and the idle surges from about 400 to 1800rpm until it finally stalls. on a side note it ran a little better when i set the timing to a fixed timing rather than the map timing, so maybe its a timing issue?

Or is there any chance my GM IAT sensor is causing this? Its all i can figure right now that would cause this strange surge in idle and throttle response.

Ok, well i played with it some more.I got it running and set timing on the new map. I got it to where the car would idle but my AFR gauge was reading way lean so i shut it off added alot of fuel(its pretty stupid how much fuel i had to put, i know something is not right). so i finally got it running at an ok afr(between 13 and 15) and was going to drive it to start letting autotune run but as soon as i put it in gear it died and now it wont start.

Ive had so many issues and tried so many things i cant even describe them all to you. I got this stupid thing because everything i read seemed to say it was pretty straight forward but this is really starting to tick me off.

If there is a way to diagnose what problems i am having could you guys point me to it? Ive spent hours searching and cant find anything that helps
