Default MS3 Basic Tuner in Maryland?

Hi:

I will be receiving my MS3 Basic from Trackspeed soon. I am confidant I can get up and running with the included base map for my stock Miata. However, to get the most out of my Trackspeed EFR turbo build (slowly collecting parts...), I am looking for a tuner in Maryland that is familiar with MS and Tunerstudio. Does anyone know of a shop?

Thanks!

Did you have issues with them? I had issues on their dyno, but it was not from them tuning. I have heard many people that have had good luck there.

Honestly PTuning in Manassas is another spot to hit up.

I went to york initially, had my car towed out there. They just autotuned it by the looks of the map. Didn't adjust timing or anything, just trimmed the VE table here and there. Car made some power, but was pig rich and couldn't get it to idle under 2000rpm.

Yorks tune was so bad I had to get it sorted somewhere else. I stopped into PTuning for an alignment over a weekend and Ken struck up a conversation about megasquirt. He was so knowledgeable and curious about the setup he spent two hours just explaining what things meant and probed my map and fixed some of the idle issues on the spot, no charge. It made me feel confident enough to bring the car back to them for a proper dial in.

Ken at PTuning was a dream to work with. Kept the car for a couple days tweaking drivability, was straight forward with what he planned to do, from leak down to glory pulls and everything in between. It cost more than York, but was on par with other tuning rates, but was essentially full package service with constant updates and benchmarks.

I hear PTuning costs a bit more when it comes to fabrication, but I would trust them my car for any tuning and aligning my car. I'll be taking it back once the flex sensor is wired in and xidas installed.

Glad to hear the Ken got you a good tune. I used to be friends with them when I lived up in NoVA. Been a customer since 2005. I got several alignment from them over the years, and Ken has ridden a few times in my car at Autox's. One of these days im hoping to get up and get on their dyno. I remember talking to them about plans for it before they moved into the building they are in.

Come back! (I don't really know anyone here anymore, not since I left the Subaru community over a decade ago to go to school in new England)

I've been doing it wrong this whole time? Yeesh.

Braineak also earns tons of my respect for helping me troubleshoot and modify and hell, build the MS3x for me. A+ would use request services again.

Thanks for the replies. I'm in Owings Mills, about 85 miles from ptuning. I will have to see how well sorted I can get things on my own before driving 85 miles to get a proper tune...
