MS3 on a Miata
We were curious to know how well the MS3 4G63 code works, so I built up a MS3 ECU for testing. We happen to have a single beta version MS3 daughtercard. It's the only MS3 daughtercard we have, so I had to get it from Matt.
So far, I'm very very pleased with it. This MegaSquirt was previously set up for MS2, and the board required no mods for the MS3 daughterboard coming from the MS2 daughterboard. After loading firmware, I simply loaded our dyno tuned DIYPNP MS2 basemap, and installed the ECU on the car.
I had to scale the entire fuel table up (the car was lean), but it started right away and so far runs pretty well. I didn't present too much load on the motor, but did bring it up to around 3000 rpm and tipped into boost some on the dyno. It's running solidly and doing a good job with cold start and hot restart. Hopefully next week, Jerry will get to put it through its paces on the dyno.
Please excuse the poor camera phone picture. This isn't an official product announcement of any sort, just a test rig for our own purposes. I am just excited that the MS3 is showing so much promise, so I wanted to share.

Welcome to the MS-III club!
Did you get the a/c idle up function running? it's pretty choice.
I'm curious to what your idle valve settings end up being. I'm running 296Hz, inverted, 40% min and 85% max.
Getting any misses? my MS-III causes random misses fairly frequent, but I need swap out my plugs first...my dash tach will drop out when it happens and not in logs, so since the dash is driven from the coils ...
