Default MS3PNP - CAN Help

Hi All,

Sorry some backstory here - I'm struggling to get my CAN devices working on my 97 Miata with a MS3Pro PNP unit (1.6 firmware installed). I have a brand new 14Point7 Spartan 3 w/ LSU sensor & Perfect Tuning Gauge. Both units seem pretty straightforward from a wiring & TS configuration standpoint, but I haven't had any success with data displaying on the multi gauge and no readings from the 02 in TS. Originally, I wired the multi gauge as a standalone device which has made no difference. I didn't run a twisted pair to the multi gauge, so I thought this might be the issue. While redoing the wiring, I added the 14Point7 on the bus with twisted pairs and followed all CAN wiring procedures. I calibrated the 02 & turned off the termination resistor in the 14Point7 module using the supplied usb cable and termite. The multi gauge is the end of the bus, with the physical termination resistor installed. Most of my testing is with the car off, but I was able to confirm no difference with the car running briefly. Lastly, the 97 PNP has an options connector on both the front and back of the ECU, I have tried CAN H/L to both the front and back connectors.

Here is how I setup the 14Point7: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0189/ ... =167428779

Couple things to note:
-I did recalibrate the EGO sensor under tools
-Fetch EGO data now includes 14Point7 in the latest firmware
-Master CAN is on and baud is set to 500k
-CAN receiving is turned on and CANEGO1 is selected
-CAN commands turned on in project properties
-Nothing is selected in CAN Devices on the third tab of the project properties page. Instructions don't call out any specific steps here.

Setup for the Perfect Tuning gauge: https://store.perfecttuning.net/wp-cont ... 4%20MS.pdf

-For MS3 Pro installs it's just one setting - Confirmed master enable is on & CAN ID...

I'm still kind of a noob with CAN, so I can't help but feel like I might be missing something phenomenally simple. Kinda been pulling my hair out and could use some help so I can try and tune this thing. MSQ and log attached.

You have CAN receiving set up with EGO1 according to the Spartan3 instructions. You also have Spartan3 enabled in CAN EGO, GPS
The settings for Spartan3 in CAN EGO, GPS are new and I haven't tried them but I doubt you want both enabled at the same time. Disable one or the other and see if that helps.
Since you are getting no luck receiving any CAN signals you can try swapping the CANH / CANL wires on the ECU and see if that fixes anything. I know my first time setting up CAN I thought I had the correct pins, but turns out they were swapped.
Unless you are using it for an expansion board with I/O I think you can disable the 29bit Megasquirt CAN Enable in CAN Parameters. I only have this on for using a TinyIOx board.
