msII: jumpstarted car. something poped.wont start
Earlier in the day i finished re-installing my motor/tranny after doing a clutch job. Started car with a jump start from a friends corolla and it ran fine. Later into the night everything is finally 100% put back together (exhaust, misc bolts) and i got to jumpstart with my impreza since the miata's battery was still dead. Started to crank and with in the first 3 seconds a single loud pop like it was about to start then went downhill from there with nothing but the motor just cranking over and over. It will crank just fine with no problem but will not even try to start up.
Im afraid i might have blown out a resistor in the MS2 or thinking blown out the coil packs?
I am about to head out and check for fuel or spark to further trouble shoot. Any suggestions are welcome!

So you obviously have fuel...how sure are you you're getting spark? No tach signal makes me think somethings wrong with your coils.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but on COPs, isnt there an "igniter" inside every coil?

I was cranking it again earlier and paying close attention to the tach I saw it bounce up to about 200rpm. Hopefully Marc ( MarcD) can come by To help me out and reload the firmware incase it became corrupted

no good news other then confirming that the ms2 is working perfectly fine. tuner studio showed tach. Marc pulled out the cops and plugs. we stuck the plugs into the cops and got a nice spark. The injectors are shooting fuel seeing as the plugs were soaked. im assuming we can rule out spark and fuel along with the CAS . what else could here be!?

Ok:
Engine needs:
AIR
FUEL
SPARK
Thats it. It should run when you open the throttle a little or you have a mechanical error.
So check:
Cam timing
Position of CAS: you could turn it 180 degrees as there are 2 bolt holes. I made that mistake once. It does run on it, but very poor. CHECK THAT!
Change your plugs, once flooded the car won't start on them if not all is right.

WTF, tried some starter fluid and it helped get the ball rolling. After shooting in some starter fluid and getting the motor running for a few seconds I kept cranking the car for about 30 seconds and it eventually starting catching and started up. ran rough for a while but it runs good now. For some reason it seems like before the e85 was igniting...
