How about mounting it to the backside of the glovebox? This is how I had my EMB, if I recall correctly there is plenty of room back there.

don't use magnets, if you hit hard enough of a bump the door will pop open, try using some nice durable Velcro, i think that would work

Almost never, but i like things to work 100% so the last inch the glove compartment wont drop kills me
