Default MSPNP2 4 bar map sensor issues

I need a little help trying to diagnose some map sensor issues. I have a 1996 1.8 with a MSPNP2. The atmospheric pressure of my location is 101 kpa. The barometric sensor in MS seems to be operating correctly and displays roughly around 101.7 kpa without any changes including voltage drop. On the internal 4 bar map sensor with the vacuum line detached it displays 72.4 kpa and roughly the same at WOT. The car won't run without my foot on the gas and still displays 16.8 kpa at idle and runs very rough. I've encountered this identical problem several months ago and had the map replaced by diyautotune. I don't want to keep sending the MS back for a map sensor replacement just for it to break again. Has anyone had similar issues with the 4 bar map sensor? Is there an alternative map sensor I can hook up?

yes! this happened to me! my idle its at nearly the exact 16.8kpa! I have been bandaiding the tune as best I can to keep it running, but reading your comment solidifies that infact was the sensor that is bad. I was on the fence about replacing the sensor myself with an after market unit in hopes to get it properly working. Do you happen to know the model of BAR sensor it is that is on it?
