well it really does not matter how many plugs you make to connect everything really. What matters is that the correct wires are joined together in the correct way

Earlier i posted about the fuel injector outputs and deleted that but am still left with another question. I am curious as to why the stock ecu would connect injectors 1 and 3 to one wire and 2 and 4 to the other. What doesnt make sense about this to me is that when pistons 1 and 4 reach TDC, 2 and 3 are at BDC. At first I thought that maybe the strokes are offset, in that when 1 is on the exhaust stroke, 4 is on the compression stroke ... but that wouldnt make sense seeing that plugs 1 and 4 fire at the same time. Is there something I am missing here?

The answer is simple. The ECU of the 1.6l Miata does not support sequential injection. A ECU with sequential injection can open every injector seperately. This improves idling the car with really big injectors.
The 1.8l Miata has sequential injection, also the 1.6 California cars(I think). Megasquirt does not support sequ. injection, but batch firing of 2 banks. You can call it semi-sequential. I don`t know why Inj. 1 and Inj. 3. are wired together, probably because of the firing order. 1-3-4-2 For spark: 1 & 4 are together, 2 & 3 |

I am trying to track down an issue on my install. So far I have removed D1 and D2 but not C12 and C30. I also haven't removed Q6 and Q8, I am using the stock 2002 1.8 coilpack and it seems to work fine. The issue I am having is slight misfires at idle - at least that's what it feels like.
So the question is, why are we removing C12 and C30? Thanks, Jim |
arent d1 and d2 supposed to be jumpered and not just removed?

I can't find the ECU connector that Kags uses on the boomslang.us website. If I call to order it, what exactly is it called?
Has anyone gotten the MS to work full standalone with out the factory ECU in the car? Sorry for the basic questions :) |
