Default Need some help with a friends MS

My friend is in the process of squirting his turbo'd 94 MX3. He bought it pre-built, but wired the harness himself. He sent me an email with the errors he is getting, the first error is when he powers the unit up, the second is after MegaTune reboots. I haven't had the pleasure of receiving errors before so I don't really know what to do from there. Does it seem like a firmware issue? As far as I know its MS1 v3 if that helps any. Thanks guys.

(These won't work with image tags for some reason, sorry)

I've had this error when [accidentally] trying to load 029 .msq onto my HR10 flashed MS.

My guess is that he needs to re-flash with the correct firmware or find a different msq.

+1 on starting with a clean re-flash.

(and moved to correct forum)

That looks like a serial issue. Usually if it's firmware, it says the firmware you're using, not cutting out letters and adding ???. I would start with a reflash, though. It may fix the problem, but other than that, check the serial settings, cables, usb->serial adapter if used. If it works sometimes and not others, then it's definitely a serial issue.

Thanks guys I will pass this along.

Sorry Joe, I almost posted in the MS section but wasn't sure since it isn't on a Miata.

Reflash firmware and try again.
