need some serious help with ms3 pro pnp

alright you all, so i followed all the installation steps to include connecting the map wites to the maf sensor, connecting the vacuum line to the manifold, and connecting all of the ecu plugs to the ms3 itself. i turned the key to the ON position and went intovtuner studio to load the base mapcand it said the controllerncould not be found. the screen says i need to install some COM port drivers, but how? this always seems to happen to me with stuff like this
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...4840b9291.jpegkey is on, dash ismon radio is on and it cant find the ms3 pro pnp

can you see any COM port in the device manager?

Figure out what USB cable you have. It's likely either an FTDI or Prolific cable. When you figure that out, google "FTDI driver" or "Prolific driver".

If you purchased the USB cable from DIYAutotune or EFIAnalytics, I believe they both have driver downloads on their product pages.

ifigured it out. it was the ftdi driver. car is running now, just incredibly rich. either that or i have a fuel leak. will find out this afternoon

maverickactual 07-09-2018 05:49 PM

can i send some logs to one of you to se why i'm getting 7mpg's?

sixshooter 07-09-2018 05:51 PM

Try tuning your fuel.

okay so i installed my megasquirt and installed a new fuel pump. i'm running the 1.6 base tune and i have a narrowband o2. i got about 7 miles to the gallon today driving to and from work and i don't understand why. i could either be running super rich or i have a fuel leak. i'm letting the car cool right now so i can troubleshoot later. i'll post the logs i took this morning to see if any of you guys see anything fishy. for some reason i'm unable to open them in megalog viewer.

concealer404 07-09-2018 06:13 PM

So, you don't have a wideband?

maverickactual 07-09-2018 06:39 PM

no. i don't have a proper bung and this exhaust comes off on friday anyway

concealer404 07-09-2018 06:41 PM

I'd try tuning it after Friday, then.

How is your narrowband currently installed into the exhaust? Is it threaded into something that looks suspiciously like a o2 bung?

nitrodann 07-09-2018 10:01 PM

You have to tune it.

it plugs in and starts as advertised but you need to pay for dyno time also.

As long as you don't drive it until Friday.

sixshooter 07-09-2018 10:58 PM

Base tunes aren't for driving. They are for getting it cranked so you can tune it.

How many threads are you going to start asking the same questions? Which shall I consider the real one?

it's in there, lol. metal clamps and a lot of exhaust sealer

I dont understand, all O2 sensors Ive ever dealt with narrow or wide, had the same thread size. What the hell did you buy?

Washing down your engine with gas, is really really bad for its health. It will be surprising if this car lives until Friday, or much after thAT..

the exhaust i got was very cheap and the bung was too far from the sensor and directly facing the transmission, so i couldn't even extend it and use the bung, so i had to drill a hole closer to the sensor. the tap that i have is too soft for the metal used to make the header so i was left with a big hole in the exhaust. i opted to just use exhaust system sealer (the chalky white one) and metal clamps to secure the o2 sensor in the exhaust. if you read my last few posts in this thread the vehicle wasn't running rich. the o-ring on cylinder 4 got damaged and was leaking so i fixed it and now it's running just fine. it should be just fine until i pull it apart on friday.

that was my mistake. i was kind of in panic mode when i first started so i posted more than once because i didn't understand the issue i had. the car wasn't running rich, it was just leaking fuel.
