Fantastic tips everyone. I'm DEFINITELY getting ~31-33mpg now with plenty of power to boot. However, now I understand what folks are talking about when they're discussing idle stability. Either way- much happier, thank you everyone. Looking forwards to learning more after the turbo goes in!

Thank you for clarifying. You're right- there haven't been any changes to the ignition map as of yet but you did give me another topic to research, learn, and apply.

Once the remainder of the turbo kit is installed (hopefully I'll finish this weekend) I do plan on bringing the car to a reputable tuner to get their expertise and a quality tune. With any luck, they won't mind me looking over their shoulder to learn a little bit more myself.
