Default Upgraded to MS2 having erratic rpms

hello all i upgraded my ms1 working to ms2 every thing works except the rpms are jumping up and down on my stim not sure if it is a wiring issue or software issue.
been reading a lot of the other threads on the issue but i don't seem to be getting anywhere.

the rpms will go to the correct amount and then drop to 0

any help will be greatly appreciated

Cam input.

Also, remove the antistatic protective thing from the MS2 daughterboard. It is conductive and may cause resets.

not to sound like a noob but does that mean that my stim does not generate a cam input and rpms are jumping because of that or does it mean there is wiring issue that i have to resolve

Depends on which stim you are using. The JimStim outputs a 2nd trigger, the old MegaStim does not. Further, the JimStim simulates Miata trigger patterns, where the old MegaStim only simulates a basic distributor pattern.

If you have a JimStim, usage instructions are here:
JimStim Firmware V2.0

ok so i installed the meagsquirt in my car and it works rpms are smooth and the ignition advances correctly.
i guess the megastim is not capable of delivering both signals as you said once again thanks to miataturbo forum and all its members.

Thanks for the follow up.

I'd like to discontinue the MegaStim for reasons like this -- it's just not as helpful at the slightly more costly JimStim.
