Default newely rebuilt 1.8 w/mkturbo and intercooler starts hard ,wont idle

hello I am a lurker and I finally worked up nerve to post , I have a 2001 that my dad bought new in 2000 so during the craziness of last summer and fall I pulled the engine (a first for me ) and dismantled it down to bear block . I replaced the pistons ,rings , water pump oil pump and all seals ,gaskets and the like .. i DID NOTHING ELSE TO IT ... I put it back in the car put the intake ( skunk2) back on put the exhaust /turbo (mkturbo) back on and hooked up all electronics MSPNP3 AEM wideband gm iat sensor and stock clt sensor oh plus an afi harmonic balancer with a 4 tooth wheel loaded base tune and car starts like there is molasses in the engine I have to floor the gas pedal it starts after cranking hard and i have to keep my foot on the gas to get it to stay running. im not really sure how to set time if it wont run long enough to put the light on it plus don't understand ms settings very well either . I hate to ask for help IM generally a fixer but i have reached the limit of mu already limited know how so I could really use some direction I really wan to finish this project my self my dad would be very proud . so any help criticism or get lost would be appreciated

thanks in advance

Any time a turbo engine is apart, one should install stronger rods. but too late now. and you just limited yourself to safe 225hp.

did you check compression?

if car was running fine, and all you did is rebuild the engine, it should run just as fine with no tune changes. so you might have other issues like low compression or cam/crank sensors are not in sync.

You need to post a log of startup and running engine.

borka ,

thank you for the response i failed to mention that i put new connecting rods and pistons in my rebuild but at any rate I just dont get it I have good compresion everything went back togeather smooth . what exactly do you mean by cam and crank sensor in sync with each other and can I get a log file even if I have a hard time starting the car and it only runs for a bit?

thanks again

Take off your valve cover and take a picture of how your cams look at TDC. I want to see the lobes from above and the gears.

Those coils don't even look like half of them are seated properly, and the wiring to them is a rats nest.
