Default No 5v output for TPS

I have mspnp. I have no out of 5v from the ms at the connector. I checked the continuity on all three TPS wires from the ecu pins to the connector, and everything was fine. So is there something wrong with my mspnp, or is there something in the settings somewhere that needs to bee turned on to have the 5v output to the TPS?

I tried the calibrate the TPS and no matter what the throttle position is, the out was always 127 in Megatune.

So if anyone has ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Read the manual!! Hardware mods are required (specifically on the daughterboard) to make a linear TPS functional.

the 1.6 tps is just basically and on/off switch and works backwards from most TPS. you need to swap in another tps to get that part of ms to work

ehh, I had assumed that he was installing a linear TPS
with the stock setup, there are 2 resistors on the daughterboard that lock TPS at an artificial value, and there's no need to calibrate the tps at all.

So in the Megatune gauge readout for TPS, there should be no movement at all? It stayed at 127 no matter what.

So does anyone know if the mspnp is supposed to supply 5v to the stock TPS?

you dont have a linear TPS, so it's not going to change.

Not without mods for a linear TPS, it isn't. The normal setup just leaves the TPS disconnected since the on/off switch doesn't supply the MSPNP with very much useful information. So the MSPNP just ignores all TPS input on the '90-'93 cars.

Note: '94 and later cars are a different story altogether.

FYI the procedure is covered in the MM9093 manual for how to change the unit to allow use of a linear TPS if you want to fit one. We can make the internal change as well if you'd prefer for a small fee. You can contact us at [email protected] if you'd like to make that happen.
