Default No Spark

So I built a megasquirt several months ago and it didn't work so i decided to take a break from it and so now im back and ready to tackle this guy once and for all. I'm not the most skilled and maybe sometimes even take directions wrong but i've never not finished what i've started and this will not be the first time.

So here is the deal... I built a megasquirt with fan mod and used joe's spark output. I Followed all the tunerstudio or megatune threads and loaded in the firmware and what not successfully to my knowledge. When i try to crank i get no spark, no rpm. I do not have a stim either.

here is a picture of my board. I know the board could have been done better but this is my first circuit build ever. I've put mod chips on xbox's and i am a locksmith and sometimes have to re-solder immobilizer boards when relocating them and reprogramming them but nothing like this. I have very little circuitry knowledge so be nice! haha. Anyway thanks for the help. If there is anyway i can use my meter to verify things then please point me in the right direction. thanks!

also i know this bored has a few extra things on it here or there. I got half way through the real mega squirt howto before i realized i could just copy the schematic from the forum. I don't know if this affects any of the circuitry. anyhow advise away!

I realized i left some important info out. I have a 1990 Miata 1.6 everything is stock other then my turbo with an fmu & intercooler. I ordered all the stuff to run the ms in parallel so i could have ac and fan control with minimal modding of my ms. I took a nap on my couch though and one of my dogs chewed up the connector i needed so i just decided to go stand alone. the onyl mods i really tried to do were fan mod and joes alternate spark wiring.

I guess since i'm not getting any kind of spark need to go over some things but first I'd like to ask. In order to get my car running with standalone those should be the only mods i need right? Also I did not unplug the tps but i'd assume that's not necessary yet. I also did not do the Fuel pump modification for 1.6's.

On my megasquirt i was able to load the firmware and i loaded the firmware WITH afm. I'll put my iat on after i know my ms works. I did change the spark output as per joes post.

So i don't have a stim of any kind and i'm a little short on cash but i'd like to get this working so if i have to buy a jimstim or a stim or whatever then so be it. My temps all read in tuner studio and my fuel pump says on. I don't get any sort of rpm reading and the log i posted is about 3-5 seconds of cranking. Since i know it doesn't work i wasn't real keen on flooding my engine. Also if there is anyone in arizona or anyone knows someone in arizona that could help me that would be great. I don't mind driving to phoenix or whatever. I really would like to finish this with my own 2 hands just to have the experience but if I can't get it i'd be willing to send it off to someone so they could correct my noobness.

My megasquirt Unit is a MS1 with a 3.0 board (pictures show that but anyway).

So i guess in short these are the questions

1) what are all the mods needed for a 1.6L standalone unit?
2) In my pictures does it look like i have everything setup correctly?
3) Does anyone in arizona or does anoyne know anyone in arizona that can help me?
4) I'm guessing this one is an automatic yes but should i buy a stim pack?

no rpm means its more than likely not seeing the CAS correctly, thats either hardware problem or software setup wrong for crank trigger settings.

first thing to do would be the crank input setup.

Do you have a log and MSQ you can upload of trying to crank it up?

yeah if you look below the picture i attached a log unless that's not what you're asking for. the msq file is the mspnp file i'll attach that as well.MSPNP_MM9093_Base_Map_112807 - with AFM.msq

how is it connected to 12v? seems to drop down to 7v at one point, also I noticed portc has movement so its likely seeing one of the signals from the CAS, how is it wired up to the car's harness?

Created your own harness or you tap from db37 directly into the harness right after ecu connector?

Hard to see in pics, but it doesn't look like you've set a jumper between tach select and opto in (near MAP sensor at bottom corner)? If so, then the primary tach signal wouldn't be making it through the MegaSquirt. Please check. You would also need to connect the TSEL jumper to optoout (top of board near U1). Board "top" is with heatsink facing up.

So here is a new log. I start and if i don't give a little gas it stalls immediately. I am still currently using my AFM & stock injectors. any thoughts?
