Default No Start, MS3 MS Gurus please look inside

Ok, so firstly, Thanks for looking in here. hopefully one of you guys can help.
I have a built ms1. with his standalone harness.
Yesterday I drove the car to radioshack to buy 470 ohm resistors to do the changes needed to run ms3x. I have a list from himself of what I needed to do:

You only need to rebuild the input circuit for the tach and swap the coil outputs to make it work. or if you are going to use the ms3x for spark output you can remove those off the mainboard.

so to get it running on the ms3, you'll want to:

replace r12 with a 470ohm
remove D1 and D2

[Run IAC1A to JS10
Run a jumper from JA10 to 5v through a 470ohm
]
Or
[Run the wire at iac1A into CAM IN on the ms3x]

TachSelect to XG1 (remove jumper to XG2)
Keep TSEL to OPTOOUT
Jump 5v to the pin on top of c30 (4th up)

Swap the wires coming off D14 and D16, they should now cross.
D16 should go to IGN and D14 to IAC2B.

Run a jumper from S12c to JS9 {DO NOT RUN THE MS1 CPU WITH THIS WIRE IN PLACE)

That will get your MS running on the MS3 daughter.
I followed these steps exactly as they stated. and now the car doesnt run.
So I started diagnostics, I have no spark or fuel, the dash in TS shows 0 rpm while cranking. Putting the stock ecu back in causes spark again (not sure on fuel cause the injectors will flood engine with stock ecu.)

I did a few datalogs, but for some reason they got corrupted, but I do have a good composite log that I will post.

Other things that may be good to know. Coil over plugs instead of stock ignition. I do have ms3x, but nothing is set to use it currently, I want to get the car running on ms3 and then move things over piece by piece to the ms3x. The board was installed fwiw.

Let me know if there is anything else you need to be able to help me out. and as always, thanks for the help in advance!

if the pics of that board are with your mods, it wont start.

input should like this:

You can see:
Tachselect is now jumped to XG1. (red wire)
top of C30 to 5v (green wire)
IAC1A to JS10 (red wire)
5v to Js10 through 470ohm resistor

you need to remove the resistor and wire going to D9
the Cap going to js8
and fix the jumper to XG1, you did it wrong. (TSEL =/= TACHSELECT)

please use 22g solid copper wire and make life easier.

I recommend setting up the tach circuit exactly as shown in the manual:
http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms3/ignition.html#tachint

Follow the directions for VR + Pullup

Ahhh, Definately made some pretty stupid mistakes.

I follow you completely but just want to make sure, the orange cap isnt on js8, its attatched to the bridge directly to the left of js8. remove it anyways?

Pic below: Orange is new wires, purple is remove, green is resistor.
Ps: i know about the large wire, it was all we had laying around at the time, I have access to better wire now.

that looks good, ben's advice would be sound, if the VR circuit was built on your board ....

I dont believe the vr circuit is on my board, R56 and R52 are blank. So I'm going to follow that, and worry about the vr circuit later.
That and once everything is decent with a new tune and all, im going to start moving things over to the ms3x card. would it still be a good idea to run the vr input. or just run it on the ms3x?

you have to run the VR circuit for the crank if the cam circuit goes into the MS3X

Or invert the CKP signal.

I still recommend running CKP through VR, and then CMP through the Expander.

That's what the VR circuit was designed to do, and MS3 triggers very reliably when used as it was intended.

Now he just needs to actually tune it and get it to stay running and such.
